The amount of money you get has nothing to do with how good you are or who you beat, just whether you are a draw and ppl pay to come see you fight.

Johnson really can't expect that much to be honest.

Regarding the sentence, the point I was making is he's probably a great boxer in your eyes because of his weak opposition.

There were plenty of great boxers entering the SS, but only a few leaving. Point is, you should be measuered on your skill level and your strength of schedule.

That's like calling Idaho Community College the greatest basketball team for going undefeated when they never faced DUKE or UCONN... Not that they ever would, but I think you get the point.
      I do.

But Bute's also a victim of circumstance. remember when he signed that agreement with Showtime, he did not sign it for one fight, or one opponent. He signed it to fight everybody under contract with Showtime.

I do not doubt he would have fought Kessler or Pavlik and for me, it is good enough that he was ready to fight them. You can't blame the guy because 6 of the best boxers in his division were not available to him for 2 years.

That being clear, i would absolutely jump off the band wagon if i thought Bute was ducking Johnson, or if he asks for too much $ to fight the Ward/Froch winner.

You know what's gonna happen? I'l tell you what. kessler's gonna win the WBO belt then him and Sauerland gonna go pitch a tent on Hershman's lawn waiving pom poms and crying for Kessler to get the winner of S6 instead of Bute. then all the haters will come out saying how Bute ducked the S6 winner.

To the people saying "Johnson doesn't deserve more than $350K" ok then smart guys, who in the world is a better option at 168 for that value??

Andre Dirrell would surely ask for more than that or the same.

Tavoris Cloud is willing to fight, but you know damn well he would want more than that.

So lets go down the list.

There is Andre's brother, Anthony Dirrell???? Really?
Robert Stieglitz - fighting kessler most likely.
        Allen Green? Lmao
        Dimitri Sartison??
        Karoly Balzay??

lol you're getting into absurdity at this point.

Ok well we can also look at this and say how else is Johnson going to make 350K or more at this point against another available opponent?

the 350 only applies to johnson. i am sure more tickets would be sold and showtime would pony us a lot more cash if dirrell or stieglitz were interested in the fight.

I've been saying the same thing for quite awhile now in reference to a potential Bute-Kessler fight.

Bute and Kessler have both clearly outlined their career paths at this point. As in "least possible risk."

Kessler's plan is dependent on Froch beating Ward, whereas if Ward wins the Super 6 he has no reason to face Kessler. He already beat him in dominating fashion and the Bute fight would make more money and more sense.

That being said, I think it's crazy that people see Ward or Froch vs Bute as a foregone conclusion after the Super 6 is over.

Neither part is going to want to concede anything in the negotiations, location will be a huge hangup, and the winner of The SS would have to feel like it was a huge slap in the face to settle for a purse split of less than 60-40 after going through the gauntlet they have to get to where they are.

btw the 350 was an invented figure, yet 3 0r 4 of you take it as the number lmao that's why i don't trust any numbers not published by the nevada state athletic commission

We've been reading articles like this for about 3 years now, and considering how his fans still defend him and watch his mismatches, he'll probably be able to milk them for at least another 3.
