but nah, Glen Johnson can bring 30,000 people to an arena and sell the place out right? oh wait......
I think people sometimes dont know that Boxing is a business, promoters have to make their money back.
Bute fee + johnson fee + arena lease + security staff + event staff + overhead expenses + regular expenses + Promoter Staff Salaries + profit off event to use for future events.
This is why you need people who can bring in big crowd so they will fill the place up and buy a ton of alcohol since they make more money off the booze than the tickets.

You are old, past your prime, lost to every decent fighter you faced, take that money. off course they won't offer you more than 1 million. Smh.
this statement shows why they fight shoulda never been offered in the first place? Why is Bute still "offering" fights to guys like this?? he should be trying to find better opposition. but i don't think this would be a walk in the park for But ... Glen would give him fits

Glen Johnson has a name, and is a very competitive fight. My vote goes for it being a lowball offer. Pavlik hasn't been active lately, and he was offered 1.35 mil.
Johnson has headlined a few HBO shows, and was at one time (as has been pointed out in this thread) the lineal LHW champ.
The losses on his record do kind of effect his marketability, but 350K or less is way too low.

this is what he does, he shows interest in fighting top guys but then he throws them a offer HE KNOWS they are NOT going to accept, then he goes and fight another BUM then he tells the media that "THIS OR THAT FIGHTER TURNED THE FIGHT DOWN"
he will find a way to get out of fighting the Super 6 Winner I am sure, he is the ULTIMATE CHERRY PICKER in boxing today

Think about it. All he did was sit in the background while these guys beat up on each other.
He needs to fight Kessler, Dirrel, Abraham, and Pavlik.
Then, depending on how he does, get the SS winner.
But he definitely should stop fighting "The Contender" reality series contestants. I mean Brinkley and Bika so far. Who's next Alphonzo Gomez?
