Much like i think Mathysse is good, but he probably needs some official wins in the book before fighting guys like Khan or Bradley.
You're right, superficially it seems bogus to give Lara a big money fight like that but in terms of his ability, that is who Cotto needs to fight if he wants to make a statement. I agree with the Mathysee statement too. I don't care about his last two losses, I think he should keep getting to fight the best though regardless.

oh? u dont think hes #1? who is then? the division is trash, cotto is the clear cut #1 i dont see who u can put above him in all honesty. that says more about the division than his run in the division.

I can compare in the sense that stylistically and in the level they're fighting at Cotto is closer to Margarito level than he is to Martinez level.

But, you're right one deserves criticism and not the other.

Yea Margarito fought Mosley and Pac 2 out of his last 3 fights in 3 years. Sorry that he couldn't the fight the likes of Mayorga.

So no one else in the division has wins better than Foreman and Mayorga in the year? Plus adding the definition of shot in Margarito...Someone has to have better wins. Because, from what I got in this thread. All 3 fights mean nothing were all jokes. So no one fought anybody worth mentioning during this time?

yea, thatd be great if thats all i was basing my assesment off of. wats ur thing against martinez? seriously, i dont see how anyone in their right mind could criticize the guy for going to 154 and fighting cotto. its better than any other fight he can make at 154 or 160. i mean unless ur seeing something i dont see. i must be reaaaaallllyyyy overlooking something at two weight classes i follow pretty religiously.

Unifying and becoming undisputed champion in the division was cherrypicking.

                  Yea you right.
Oh golly gee Jro, might aswell say Ottke wasn't a cherry picker either.

Ishida beats Kirkland, and he is now the second best fighter at JMW?! What the hell has the world come to. Maybe Cotto doesn't actually have anyone to fight rotfl.

angulo??? bundrage? mebbe trout?? lol...dude, not one of those guys have a better win than yuri foreman at 154. oh lemme guess, canelo alvarez? vanes is up there too. any of them better than cotto??? no.

and i even opened by saying the foreman fight was a fight to get a belt and that there was nothign really wrong with it. so, yea, i dunno where u got that from. the fact is that the best fighter at 154 for the last few yrs is the same person who is the best fighter at 160
