With a ridiculous amount of resistance. The other threads were silly, hence the reason for this one.

Oh OK...Cotto-Margarito is cherry picking and deserves criticism. But, Martinez-Cotto(way past prime fighter) is cherry picking but no criticism...

      Got it.

I don't think he always fights the absolute toughest guy he can, but i also strongly do not think hes been ducking anyone at 154. Which was the topic of the thread.

Erislandy Lara would be excellent if he isn't tied up with Pwill again. That is a solid tough fighter. If Cotto beat him I would be impressed.

Funny how Cotto is #1 in a weight-class where he fought nothing but cherry picked fights in Foreman, Mayorga(joke of a fight) and now Margarito...

I guess it doesn't take much to be #1 nowadays...Yet he cherrypicked and ducked everyone...

Not hard at all. Ask Calzaghe.

while i disagree with Paul winning the fight, i think it will be tough to motivate giving Lara a titleshot from a draw and a loss. (i know i know, mayorga lololol)
Much like i think Mathysse is good, but he probably needs some official wins in the book before fighting guys like Khan or Bradley.

Aside from Martinez calling Cotto out, no, he hasn't straight up refused to fight people that have called him out. I should have titled the thread Cotto has cherrypicked at 154. The basic gist is the same--he hasn't been trying to fight the best. That is all I'm saying. You can't criticize all these other fighters for cherry picking and then glorify Cotto's recent selections.

the divisions suck, wat else can be said. and cotto fighting a margarito who hasnt even won a real fight in 3 or so yrs is not at all analogous to martinez fighting cotto. i dont see how u can in good faith compare the two. i mean margarito was damn near advised not to fight anymore.

I mean that's ****** but I guess. I mean Kessler was cherry picked. A past prime Eubank who went up 2 weight-class to give Thompson(KO'd Haye) a hell of a fight was cherrypicked. The way everybody hyped up Lacy was cherrypicked.

Unifying and becoming undisputed champion in the division was cherrypicking.

                      Yea you right.
