This is just ******, He has only fought twice since losing to Paq... Then he's getting back in with Margarito who he lost to in an anticipated rematch, You really cannot fault his competition, I don't really want to see him fight Martinez at this point because he would get destroyed and he's war torn, I would rather fresh fighters like Mayweather, Paq, Canelo, Chavez jr take on Martinez.

The foreman fight is certainly excusable. He was an undefeated champion...many picked cotto to lose, including half of this board. Cotto dominated, outboxing a boxer.

Mayorga was a wasted fight, in the sense that mayorga is finished (tho he came in one of the best shapes of his career). With that said, cotto is steadily improving under manny, so it was a good fight to put everything he's learned into play. He'll be back, fighting the biggest names.

He certainly isnt scurred, and will fight anyone in front of him. If you have a problem with who is in front of him, blame arum.

So... Cotto is cherry picking by focusing on fighting Margarito? Who else in that division is truly scary besides that middleweight Martinez who is trying to fight all the 140lb killers?

He was all set to beat Chavez Jr's ass last year and Chavez Jr. pulled out of the fight claiming a sore tummy.

Genius, Cotto's best days are behind him at 147lbs. You want cherry pickin? Try Floyd who is at his best weight, and in his PRIME cherry picked BS fights at 147 !!

The only dude who gives Cotto any real issues at 154 is that middleweight Sergio. Right now Cotto, like a REAL fighter, is focusing on avenging his 2 losses.

        Kill this corny ass thread...

        Has Floyd fought Sergio yet?

Has Margarito fought Sergio at 154?

Has Pac fought Sergio at 154?

Sergio's resume is WEAK! He beat 2 names of worthy mention: Pavlik (alcoholic bastard) and Williams (Hyped B level fighter)

Let's talk about his new found KO power.

Sergio had what? 20 KOs in 40 plus fights and all of a sudden he is pullin a Pacquaio with the dominating performances at age 36!?

          Hmmm

50% KO ratio blossoms into Hearns overnight. Hmmm

He hasn't been there long enough to be ducking anyone. He looks small at 154 anyway. He's just picking his spots so he can go out with some money in his account. And the Margarito rematch is legit. Frankly, I think Margarito has more left than him and will stop him again.

Exactly. Thread starter... You made NO sense today. Try again tomorrow.

he should've avoid plasterito first and pacquiao and should've fought pbf instead. he will lose but not punished. and will not look that bad.

Who else would be a more legitimate threat? There's martinez, but he's the MW champ. That fight could still happen. Give it time. He's only going into his 3rd fight at JMW.
How about Molina, Lara, Martirosiyan, Dzinzuruk, etc.? There are people for him to fight at 154. The only interesting thing about the Margarito fight is what happened the first time and that's it. Cotto and Margarito are shells of what they were in their first fight. I don't blame Cotto for not fighting Martinez at 154 because he would get murked.

So you prefer Cotto to dodge a rematch with Margarito for those aforementioned names in his stead?
