The same is true of classless Brits who move abroad and expect everyone to cater for their English speaking needs.

I am not trying to impose racial views here. Many ******s are fine and easy to get along with, but it is the way that many ******s isolate themselves from the rest of society that has caused the growth of xenophobia in the UK. Unfortunately, many people associate all ******s with each other.
    Agreed 100%

The fact is all minorites keep themselves to an extent. In fact, no one keeps to themselves more than the ***s. Yet, none of this makes a difference, because the racism has nothing to do with this.
The threadstarter posed the question to the Brits. Why are you trying to tell us something when you're not even British???

Totally agreed but unfortunately that is not the case.

In fact, the only ******s that are isolated are the ones you Brits make isolated with your racism. And integration and assimilation are two different things.

It's absurd to blame ******s for your own xenophobia, that's idiotic and a rationalisation of your own racism. But that's how your country is, and I pity it. The rise of xenophobia and racism in Britain is because you guys have a lot of RACISTS in our country, it has nothing to do with people being isolated. The ***ish community is the most closed off of all, yet I don't see any crazy Anti semetism.

In fact this proves your full of ****. Because, the same racist Anti Islam movement that is happening today, was an Anti semetic movement in Britain in the 60s. I guess the ***s deserved it because they isolated themselves? Such an idiotic rationale you present, but it really shows the racist mentality you guys have.
Blacks have received the same racism in Britain, yet they still integrate with ease.

On one hand they say Britain is a tolerant society, but on the other, they dont like it when they speak their own language, or dress differently, or practice their own religion. Thats incredibly hypocritical.
Either you are tolerant and respectful of other cultures, or you are not.

Asian people today dont want to have to dress, and speak like the English in order to not get abuse. They have put up with so much hostility in the past, its no wonder they dont want to integrate.

Whenever English people go abroad they expect everyone to speak English. lol

Im from London, but live up north. I find northerners to be genuinely good, likeable people. But they are very ignorant when it comes to race.
Some very good points there Bro.

Well I’m from West Midlands (Birmingham) area it is quite possibly the most multi cultural city in England along with London and I can say the majority of boxing fans and casual fans I know like Khan, there are always going to be small minded idiots around but there isn’t many of them here.

funny thing is, a lot of the Asians who move to Britain expect handouts without working.

My bro in-law and sister live in birmingham and I would definitely agree that the reaction to khan is mostly positive there. People seem to like him and will make time to watch/order his fights.

First off England is infinitely more racist as a society then the West side of the US, I stress the West side because that is where I have spent most of my time. The people who say the US is way better integrated are accurate, England is light years behind in that sense, but England is definitely miles ahead of the rest of Europe. I am Indian, and can only comment on every day life, in the States race is a non-issue really, there is so many different immigrants from all over the world, I go to Vegas quite a bit and feel the difference straight away. In England I do feel the underlying racism that exists everyday, it is there...whether it is in your face or not is a different story. I think in Britain we have done a good job on clamping down on it, especially in sport, but it is in-built in the thinking, people are just better at not talking about it in public. I would like to stress that 90% of my mates are white

On to Amir Khan: I think most people around my area don't like him, and can't really give me a good reason, which leads me to believe it is mostly based on his success and race. One of my mates changes his reason so he can continually dislike him, ie. first it was because there was too much hype, then it was because he was crap, then it was because he got gifted a world title, and now that he is doing well it is because he is arrogant. I was in a pub the other day and they were interviewing him, and I heard a group of middle age white guys talking, and I caught a little bit of the convo and the basic jist of it was that they were starting to respect what he is currently doing, they were talking about how good the fight with the "hispanic" guy was (maidana), and then discussed Judah and saying "he was old wasn't he", and one of them jumped in and said "yeah but he was a world champion". So I think he is slowly starting to win people over around here, but sadly even if he beat mayweather people in England would still hate him. In the US...if you are good it doesn't matter where you come from people will respect you and eventually love you. Even Floyd will get universal love...eventually.
So you say England is infinitely more racist than America based off living in Surrey but you can only compare to the West side of America well surely you should also mention that you can only compare Surry to the area in America you lived in. I believe Surry is not a very multicultural area and California is, so its an unfair and inaccurate comparison.

What gets me, Mayweather is hated in America by the fast majority of the population, is this down to colour? Hell no. He is arrogant, flashy and the money persona is not endearing to the hard working American population

Mayweather would get more love in the UK than in America if he ever boxed here. Does that mean Americans are racists? Of course not.

Why do people on here think that if someone doesn't like Khan is mostly to due to race?
Khan on his tv show came across as a complete tit. The guy is arrogant, his personality doesn't show well and he has rightfully been criticised in the past for being a over hyped diva.

Mate England is tiny, I have spent plenty of time all around England, Scotland, and Wales. Went to Manchester Uni. America is huge, and in certain parts ie South East you will find extreme racist areas. Thus why I said West side of the US because I haven't been to vast parts of it.

Exactly England is similar to most countries in that in the big multicultural cities racism is not as present as in the mostly predominantly white populated areas.

Don't stray this far off topic if you have any evidence for your allegations take them to the lounge and discuss them there if you must.

This is about Khan and not about a bunch of dodgy kebab shop owners and what they have or have not done.

On khan I have to say within the boxing community there was open discussin about the flaws in his game, his poor fottwork during the Kotelnik fight, but he has definitely improved fight by fight. It is unmissable.

The only criticism I hacve come across that I KNOW is nopt racist is from people who don't like the way his family operate and the fact that he is from a middle class background. There is a bit of angst about that and also the fact that he used to train in manchester and moved to the states. That kind of annoys some fight fans in Salford.
