The Way To Beat Mayweather

No, the way to beat Mayweather is the way Castillo did in their first fight. A very good pressure fighter who can bully Floyd into the ropes, cut off the ring, and fight inside has a better chance than anyone does of outboxing Floyd.Comment

Because Floyd's a great fighter, and Castillo couldn't do the same thing in the rematch. He still did better than anyone trying to box Mayweather would.
And Hatton actually did make Floyd uncomfortable, despite not having anywhere near the skill to beat him. Again, Hatton did better than the fighters who have tried to box Floyd do.Comment

The only blueprint to beating Floyd is Floyd getting old. Nobody in present day boxing possess the skill set to beat him. Floyd eluded to it last night on the Face/Off. The reason "it look different from the outside" is because of the slight nuances Floyd brings to the game. The distance he fight from, feints, angles, target levels, quirky rhythm, not telegraphing his shots with shoulder dips or with his eyes, etc. Boxing is a skill set. That's why nobody can match skills with Floyd. Now while FIGHTING, anything can happen. There may be somebody out there that can catch Floyd with a hard shot, but there's no shame in that. But to pretend as if there is a gameplan to beat Floyd is obsurd. It's not a coincidence that guys who have iron chins and bruising styles don't run up on him crazy in the ring. It's not a coincidence that by the 4th round in most of his fights, the other fighter looks as if he's stuck in mud and has been fighting for 12 rounds already.Comment

i think floyd needs to move up to 154... he looked physically bigger than shane... then you see how small pac was compared to shane.... then you REALLY think how a pac/floyd match up would be....Pac can move all he wants, makes no difference when the other fighter moves as well. Ask Morales
Floyd isn't flat footed so there's no way he'll be turning him like he did other fighters. Floyd rolls and ducks and moves out the way. Those slow as fighters curled up and took punches
I seen Floyd fights and one thing I see has a better chance of beating him is someone bigger than he is. Someone with size to corner him and push him around. That was then, of course Floyd is bigger and more matured into his body and can hold his ground more but I still hold that opinion. He sees those little than him as an advantage cause he knows they dont have the arm length and jab to seriously bother him
the whole bigger/stronger approach doesnt mean anything if that bigger/stronger guy is slower... i mean, there is NO WAY floyd will fight sergio.... who is FAST & POWERFUL....
floyd is great at measuring and keeping his range, at this point, i wouldnt say he has elite footwork... i wouldnt say he is flat-footed either. but he is DEFINITELY more stationary than sergio/pac/khan.... floyd sets his stance, inches back & forth.... rolls punches.... ducks/dips (pernell-esque)..... counter...... potshot.... wash, rinse, repeat. lets not act like floyd is ali.... @ WW, floyd is very formulaic.... he seemed more dynamic @ 130-135... i definitely prefer "pretty boy" over "money"Comment
