the whole bigger/stronger approach doesnt mean anything if that bigger/stronger guy is slower... i mean, there is NO WAY floyd will fight sergio.... who is FAST & POWERFUL....

floyd is great at measuring and keeping his range, at this point, i wouldnt say he has elite footwork... i wouldnt say he is flat-footed either. but he is DEFINITELY more stationary than sergio/pac/khan.... floyd sets his stance, inches back & forth.... rolls punches.... ducks/dips (pernell-esque)..... counter...... potshot.... wash, rinse, repeat. lets not act like floyd is ali.... @ WW, floyd is very formulaic.... he seemed more dynamic @ 130-135... i definitely prefer "pretty boy" over "money"

Ask the guys who are completely befuddled by the 4th round if he's formulaic.

This will stop Floyd from jumping in and potshotting. Then it's a matter of outworking him and minimizing his return fire. These guys that try to run at him end up maximizing his connect percentage and end up getting tied up inside. You really gotta pick spots and only spots to do that - just enough to up your punch count and steal moments for the scorecards. And you definitely need to be able to feint a lot. Floyd reacts to his opponent. That's his talent. You can't just try to blow fastballs by him. You gotta threaten with a mean fastball and set him up with changeups. Just another way to keep his mind busy and his offense down.

Floyd's biggest flaw would be that his style is based on having to be perfect. He wins rounds by clearly landing and not clearly getting hit. If somebody were able to muddy that water a bit then they turn everything around and put the onus on Floyd to have to make something happen.

If there was a WW Kostya Tszyu today that would be the guy to beat Floyd.

There is a few ways to beat Mayweather but this isn't one of them.

Stop playing Punch Out, and watch some boxing, you might learn something.

The way that you beat Mayweather is by keeping the jab on him ALL NIGHT long. Obviously this is much easier said than done, but someone like Tommy Hearns or Vernon Forrest could've given Mayweather fits with their long jab.
I think Khan has a better chance than Manny because of height, reach and speed. There is a chance that Mayweather can neutralize Manny but a young hungry Khan I see as his nightmare because of the speed, atheleticism and reach. Although Floyd is my favorite fighter he has to slow down soon. I can Floyd and Manny turning out like Whitaker and Chavez because of the way Floyd can fight off of his back foot.

Why don't you get in the ring with Floyd since you know how to beat him?

I see people putting Castillo 1 as the way to beat Mayweather as if Mayweather had not improved since 2002

OMFG, are you one of those "floyd is the BEST fighter that EVER lived" fans????

if so, there is no point in responding to you... im a boxing fan, i recognize floyds strengths and weaknesses.... i also recognize pac's strengths & weaknesses.... to think floyd is IMPECCABLE & has ABSOLUTELY no flaws is just being plain ignorant.... by formulaic, i mean floyd doesnt throw you any curveballs. floyd is pretty straightforward. he systematically breaks you down. what makes floyd great is the subtle nuances in his game. also his self control. he doesnt fight 'emotional'...

simply put, since he is a DEFENSIVE fighter... his opponents are FORCED to figure him out.... basically, you bend to his will. you fight HIS fight... if floyd was an OFFENSIVE fighter, he would NOT be undefeated, but im sure he would have more fans.

You're really trying your hardest to sound knowledgable, but you're spitting gibberish. You can't call him formulaic in one breath and say his style is DEFENSIVE. Fighting defensive is reactionary. There's no formula, which is the root word for your word of the day, for reacting to an opponent. Floyd fought Hatton in a wrestling match and against the ropes, Marquez from distance and range, Judah with a high guard and walking forward, Mosley by walking him down with a low guard to bait him so he can counter in the pocket... the different FORMULAS go on and on. What Floyd does is forces his opponent's to lose confidence in THEIR formula. You wanna jab? He circles and counter over it and take it away. You wanna rough him up on the inside? He throws one punch, fall in, create space with his elbow, and work your pit. See in your haste to crown somebody a Floyd lover, you decided to debate someone who is a fan of boxing, not BOXERS. Everything you stated trying to sound knowledgable about Floyd and his nuances in your attempt to school me...I already said on page 6. I like your style, you obviously watch boxing and can point out some things about the science. You just happen to pick the wrong word, formulaic, when describing Floyd.
