    The Way To Beat Mayweather

Personally, I think the way to beat Mayweather is by boxing him. Not just that simple obviously. You need massive punching power, and intelligence. I think Floyd's worst nightmare would be Kostya Tszyu. I think the way to beat him is to hold over his head the threat that you're capable of hitting him and capable of stopping him when you do. This will stop Floyd from jumping in and potshotting. Then it's a matter of outworking him and minimizing his return fire. These guys that try to run at him end up maximizing his connect percentage and end up getting tied up inside. You really gotta pick spots and only spots to do that - just enough to up your punch count and steal moments for the scorecards. And you definitely need to be able to feint a lot. Floyd reacts to his opponent. That's his talent. You can't just try to blow fastballs by him. You gotta threaten with a mean fastball and set him up with changeups. Just another way to keep his mind busy and his offense down.

Floyd's biggest flaw would be that his style is based on having to be perfect. He wins rounds by clearly landing and not clearly getting hit. If somebody were able to muddy that water a bit then they turn everything around and put the onus on Floyd to have to make something happen.

If there was a WW Kostya Tszyu today that would be the guy to beat Floyd.

pacquiao is the worst nightmare for mayweather

he can outwork him 12 rounds
he can hurt him at any distance
pac has an iron clad chin
he's a lion like haggler at his best
but unlike haggler- pacman knows how to box aswell

pacquiao might be the greatest P4P fighter of all time

I would agree with that except stylistically Manny might get undone by his aggression whereas my mythical 'WW Tszyu' would be more patient and fight the whole fight based on giving an already excellent Floyd Mayweather as little to work with as possible. Force him to have to outbox a guy that's boxing intelligently.

Manny brings the elements of being able to land and being able to hurt him without having to run into Floyd's chest to do it. That's why Manny is "the guy" if there is a "guy".

            Kosta wouldn't beat Floyd.
One way to beat Floyd is to make him lead and take him out of his counter pucnher position. If you feint him and don't throw, you force him to punch first and then you counter him.
But not just anybody could do this of course

The way and only way to beat Mayweather is to throw when he throws. Given his defensive skills, that's really the only way to land cleanly and hurt him....

That said, Floyd made an interesting point last night during Face Off. He said it looks different being on the outside looking in. But once you're in there, it's a completely different story. This statement makes total since.

I remember watching the Hatton fight and all the other fights thinking, "why won't they just do this or that". Floyd answered my questions clearly!

I would like to see how mayweather fights when he is down a couple of rounds by points. But its very hard to beat mayweather.

I like your analysis but completely disagree with you on Kosta. Mayweather would have beaten Kosta pretty badly if they fought.

The way that you beat Mayweather is by keeping the jab on him ALL NIGHT long. Obviously this is much easier said than done, but someone like Tommy Hearns or Vernon Forrest could've given Mayweather fits with their long jab.

There's no formula to beat Floyd but there is a formula to scared him though....beat the **** out of the guys he ducked.
