It's wasn't "personal business", just his record as a fighter. Something I learned as a child: hateful, jealous criticism always comes from a loser.

It the man who has accomplished little in his own life who will hate the accomplishments of others!

For example, while a talented boxer and world champion like Steve Cunningham recognizes Wladimir's capabilty and achievements, a loser drug addict who took it in the ass in prison like Larry will belittle Wlad.

That's to be expected. I try not to let it bother me too much. I always try to guage a win or the quality of an opponent on what my own eyes tell me, not what others tell me I should think of them. Haye was hyped to the hills, but I didn't let that influence my opinion of him as a fighter, neither have I let the fact that he subsequently lost influence it much either.

I notice the same can't be said of most of Haye's (ex) fans.

Lets give it some time. After 5-10 years he/they will probably get a more balanced view of their place in history.

With all due respect to you, who are you comparing his footwork to? And my remark should have been more specific. When Wlad is hit his foot work looks like that of a baby giraffe. He simply does not take a punch well, and being so big he looks a bit goofy.
