Bute could have easily set up a fight with Allen Green, Andre Dirrell or Arthur Abraham, all of whom were out of the tournament instead of the no-hoper he just beat, but he chose not to. There was talk of him fighting Kessler, but I think that fight has fallen by the wayside also. When you choose to fight stiffs, instead of quality contenders who are available, that tells fans something about the fighter or what his handlers think of the fighter.
that's all fine and dandy. But, Allan Green is not better than Andrade nor Bika. Matter of fact I would pick Sakio Bika to dismantle Allan Green. Hell I would even debate if Green is better than Alejandro Berrio.

And, JT was the name of the division. But, if you really look at 168 he never proved to better than Green let alone Bika.

Again it's one thing to downgrade a fighter level of comp. But, lets not over do it and exaggerate it.

I just want Bute to fight a real opponent at 168 and not someone coming off a KO loss or is over the hill. He's had enough time to get ready for the center stage. The time is now....

I wouldn't mind seeing him fight Dirrel, Kessler or a cloud at light heavy...

I dont' think he deserves the right to challenge the winner of the SS, only for him to possibly land a lucky punch and walah, he gets all this credit for being this great champ.

Bute needs to bring something to the table before he jumps straight to a high class championship fight.....

Cleverly left out the fact that Ward fought the same shot Miranda and hasn't fought anyone of note so far outside of Kessler who we can debate was ever that good to begin with.

Green, AA after losing 2 in a row badly isn't exactly a stellar resume itself. We can't count Froch yet because it hasn't happened.

I can't imagine Bute having any shred of trouble with Green, AA, or Kessler himself, or Froch for that matter.

Then why couldn't Ward stop Miranda, like Bute did?

Ward only fights in his home town, so he isn't all that different than Bute

Bute is actually fun to watch and knocks people out. Not only that, he sells way more tickets.

Probably because he's actually fun and knocks people out.

This is true. Ward did fight Miranda after he lost to Pavlik and AA. But I was talking about Ward not having 1 close fight in the SS tourny. The tourny was made of the most elite fighters at 168, at the time. Ward's fight's haven't been close.

That said, Bute not only fought Miranda "after" Ward, but he hasn't had one competiter who could be a contestant in the SS....

Green's last loss was to Miranda a few years before facing AW. This explains why Green was even allowed in the tourny in the 1st place. They wouldn't let Green be in the tourny coming off a loss....

Yes AA lost to Froch. This was AA's first real defeat since the Dirrel fight was rules a DQ... But it's not like AA was coming off a KO loss.. Froch was also coming off a loss when he beat AA, so what does that say?

Keep in mind these guys are fighting "the most elite" fighters at 168. Coming off a loss at this stage can't be looked down upon....

I can't imagine Bute having any shred of trouble with Green, AA, or Kessler himself, or Froch for that matter.

                  Bump...

I guess Bute wants the SS winner without facing anyone of significance, just as I predicted a few months ago.

Bute would maybe have a better resume if the entire SS didn't flat out duck him

ward went life or death with bika, bute ate him for lunch

ward struggled and couldn't harm miranda, bute 1 punched him

fighting glen johnson was a 100% lose lose situation for bute and he still took it

Bute's resume is underrated but it's clear he hasn't beaten the top elite fighters.

Still he's a top contender and I would like to see Ward-Bute.
