I just don't see how Marg'z body can hold up (even at the higher weight) after the severe and consecutive beatings he has taken. When you factor the injury he sustained in his last fight, the mileage he carries and the type of fight this will be, you have to wonder how much more can his body take?

Cotto SHOULD win this based upon what has transpired, where they both are in their careers and due to the belief that Margz body is prob ready to quit on him. Marg'z will alone might carry him to victory again but only if his body can survive another hellacious war.

there should be no more excuses after this fight. right now it's seen as a 50/50 fight. however, it's too early to assume that the fight will have the same outcome as the first fight. this will all depend on cotto's conditioning. anytime margarito is your opponent you gotta have a horse's stamina. expect non-stop pressure from a fighter who'd rather walk through than avoid punches.

this is a ******** bonus of a fight before the year ends. i expect it to be bigger than the first.

The sad thing is and even me as being a non Cotto fan, I find it hard to give much credit to him if he beats a Margarito who was on the verge of blindness at one time with retirement staring him in the face. I think Cotto isn't what he once was as well, but still if Margarito loses people will bring up the eye question and it would be legit because we haven't even seen Margarito fight any since the fight with Pac and his career was in jeopardy because of the eye thing. Don't see anything special about Cotto beating him if you want me to be honest.

Add insult to the injury of Margarito getting his ass handed to him by Mosley and then Mosley goes on to look like dog shit for three fights in a row. But to Margarito's credit, he actually did better than Mosley did agaisnt Pacquaio despite the fact he got hit more. He landed more punches against Manny.

Only way I can see Margo winning, is if Cotto cant maintain his activity level, which is a valid criticism, given that he has a tendency to get on his bike in the second half of the fight, but I still think Cotto will beat him this time.

Cotto on the other hand looked terrible against Mayorga. He was hittable, footwork was slow and his handspeed appeared slower. He hasn't shown any improvements under Steward imo.

Mayorga is a awkward guy to fight so i will give Cotto the benefit of the doubt. I just hope Steward can give Cotto a very good gameplan to help him beat Margarito but it won't be easy.

Cotto fought too aggressively against Mayorga, but it was part of his strategy to get Mayorga's respect, its just he took it too literal at times, and stayed in the pocket too long sometimes, that said, I didn't think he looked that bad, Mayorga didn't land much of anything significant when they were in center ring, Cotto stepped away from most of his wild ****. If you watch the fight, Mayorga only really looked dangerous when he backed Cotto up, but Cotto kept him in the middle of the ring for the most part, as that was part of the game plan, to keep him center ring, keep him turning, use the jab, utlize the straighter punches, but sit down on your shots when you see the openings, to get his respect, to make him respect the distance, otherwise he would of kept trying to come at Cotto.

Only things Cotto did wrong, was languished in range too much at times, and had that round where he switched off momentarily.

Cotto did not look terrible in that fight with Mayorga. Go rewatch it. Cotto did not appear to be slower at all. He was beating Mayorga up. People just say he looked bad because of Mayorga's age and because Cotto didn't finish him off early in the fight. Its pretty pathetic.

I won't be at all surprised and Margarito will get his full props from me.

They're both past it, Margo's just a bad style match up for Cotto. I think Cotto CAN win, but it won't be easy...

I just hope Margarito doesn't hurt his eye in sparring or something and delay the return of both guys...I feel like that's entirely possible.
