Brother, read the history, look at the films. Black America LOVED Ali. Even in Africa they rooted for him and against Foreman "Ali boombaye, Ali boombaye"

Ali was the hero against the establishment for black people in America. He had a cult following, he was adored. It's just that he wasn't liked bu mainstream media and white America because of his political stances.

Remember, ******s have always been accepted in the black community. The Nation if Islam, Malcom X, black panthers, have all stood for the plight of the inner city black man and Ali stood side by side with those groups.

If being phony was the reason then very few fighters would be loved. Besides, he didn't have that many kids back then.

By the way, sorry about the posts before, I mistaken you for someone else, you are a good poster and I'm glad we are having this discussion. You have made some excellent points that have made me re-think this whole thing. I'm just frustrated I'm not seeing this fight man, I'm used to watching ABC Wide World of Sports and seeing the best fight the best.

All this posturing and ego's is ridiculous.
Yeah he lacks that but in his favor hes still young and seems like he hasnt let the fame go to his head yet. He seems pretty composed when he fights. He isnt wild like most people his age.

Hey its all good. No harm. no foul. All this Floyd-Pac talk made me forget about Klit-Haye. It isnt Holyfield-Tyson but its solid.

People are mad that ****** a$$ hood-ni&&a floyd (really al haymon) outsmarted top rank and Manny by hearing his demands, agreeing to them, then hitting back hard with the OST request. The complaints about the OST range from, floyd must be scared, to its not right, to Manny is too good for that, you shouldn't discredit a champion BLAH BLAH BLAH!
i disagree...but i think he's made the right moves since. even though I still think he should drop the demand and make the fight....he would be a hero.

Respectfully, as a 40 year old black man, i don't need the history bboks to check on what my father and grandfathers and their friends told me about that era in American history. Why do you think Jim Brown and Russell recruited Ali for there movement, which wasn't about equal rights but equal economics.

People respected ALi because he challeneged white authority. But ALi was not beloved when he beat Sonny Liston. He was beloved upon release form prison, not before it.
