Does Floyd give boxing a bad name?

When sports stars become this famous, their life will always be in the limelight. They become the faces of boxing, and casual sports fans recognise them, and often follow.
In fact it is human nature to concern what someone does in their life, such as friends, colleagues and family.
As for the long lay off, it was his own choice. He was not injured, and chose to have a 'lay off' once again, well a third time some say. Victor Ortiz is certainly a good fighter, but no means on the level of Mayweather. There are good, and there are very good, and there is great. Victor is a fighter who relies on people fighting him, he relies on that power and strength, and a defensive fighter can give him trouble, or a fighter that he can not stop. Berto gave him trouble, and he is also a fighter that in a lot of people's views, lost to Collazo. Maidana is a fighter that took his punishment, and beat him. He did not like getting hit, which also has been said by others. He will face the most accurate fighter there is, and I see no hope of Ortiz winning because he will also face the best defensive fighter out there who has a very good chin.
As for him giving a bad name, maybe his life outside the ring does not matter to you, which you are entitled to, but it does matter to others, the positive and negative aspects may I add.Comment

U know what,14o has nothing to do with welterweight, just ask Jro,he'll tell U.Besides after Ortiz beat Berto U got owned in ur own tread saying Floyd wouldn't fight him.So I don't know why ur going above & beyond the norm to **** on an exciting welterweight fight.you conveniently forgot..............that its ortiz 2nd fight in WW.........that he quit against maidana.........................subpar performance against peterson and ..............mediocre performance against nate campbell..................unexperienced........... ........its clearly a cherry pick

Seriously??Ortiz got to where he is by beating Berto. If U mad,go holla at ur boy Pacman,if he unified welterweight like he was supposed to by beating Berto, none of this would be happening. But instead he was busy beating old, shot, cheaters on ppv.

Ditto. Pacquiao fans can't get enough of him in the meantime. They longed for his ring return to see what he'll say and do and now he's back. Whatever he's doing has been working.
The HW division needed a blood transfusion and Haye is keeping it alive at the moment. The excitement has been missing for a long, long time.Comment

Wih respect, trash talking is fine with me. This is why I mentioned David Haye, but I am talking about what he does further, which appears to be violence toasted others.
Floyd hasn't made it popular in the mainstream, I believe Oscar was the person to do so. What I do feel is positive is that since fighting Oscar, Mayweather and Pacquiao are extremely famous and can sell fights. Mayweather certainly is the better fighter in terms of PPV, unless Manny Pacquiao has caught up having more fights, but Oscar and Mayweather doing 2.4 Million was indeed great.
I find it an extreme concern that Fans are brushing off incident after incident. Fans should be concerned on their fighters lives, that's what real fans in my opinion are like. I personally do not like any fighter being arrested, going court and being in trouble with the law. I would much rather try fight, earn a good living and stay out of trouble. Also I would like then to not end up financially unstable. I love the sport and truly respect boxers.Comment
