In fact it is human nature to concern what someone does in their life, such as friends, colleagues and family.

As for the long lay off, it was his own choice. He was not injured, and chose to have a 'lay off' once again, well a third time some say. Victor Ortiz is certainly a good fighter, but no means on the level of Mayweather. There are good, and there are very good, and there is great. Victor is a fighter who relies on people fighting him, he relies on that power and strength, and a defensive fighter can give him trouble, or a fighter that he can not stop. Berto gave him trouble, and he is also a fighter that in a lot of people's views, lost to Collazo. Maidana is a fighter that took his punishment, and beat him. He did not like getting hit, which also has been said by others. He will face the most accurate fighter there is, and I see no hope of Ortiz winning because he will also face the best defensive fighter out there who has a very good chin.

As for him giving a bad name, maybe his life outside the ring does not matter to you, which you are entitled to, but it does matter to others, the positive and negative aspects may I add.
The reason I didn't reply is because quite frankly I agree with most of ur post.Except for a couple parts.IMO,there is no reason to assume that Ortiz is not on Floyd's level.I know people constantly say that Floyd & Pacman are on another level. But I find it funny that Berto sat there ay 147,basically being allowed to rack up title defenses(for whatever reason)while Floyd vacationed & Pacman cherrypicked. After a long layoff, facing a strong southpaw with a new identity is dangerous atm for Floyd. When was the last time that Floyd or Manny faught a young, prime fighter??It's been a while.

As for Floyd's life giving boxing a bad name, the best thing I can do is give examples.Look at Vick in football, his personal problems didn't hurt football.Kobe's personal problems didn't hurt basketball.Tiger's problems didn't hurt golf.

The only time that i'll say is when Floyd fans & Pacman fans beef, that hurts the sport because other fighters get drawn into the conflict. For example:Now Ortiz is being drawn through the ringer by Pacman fans,(even though Pacman is at 147 & could have easily rid boxing of Berto & unified the division). But he didn't.Berto cherrypicked Ortiz, took his title & now Floyd is fighting him.If pacman beat Berto & unified welterweight, there wouldn't be a Floyd-POrtiz fight, now would it??

For me, Ortiz poses no problems that Floyd can not handle. It was a half surprise that he beat Berto, but I knew 147 wasn't a problem, I saw him at 144 after Maidana and he looked filled out. Well, one issue for Floyd is the south paw stance. Other than that, Ortiz is no Judah, even Floyd at age 34 should win a wide UD.

I definitely feel both are better than Berto. Berto is with Al Haymon who I think won't risk both cash cows. As for PAC, I think Arum wanted to make money from his own fighters. Berto is limited in footwork, which I noticed post Collazo. He hasn't corrected that issue.

As for boxing getting a bad name from Pac and May fans, it doesn't help by us being whiney biatches. Maybe the Internet has allowed people to moan a lot but in real life certainly both fans show respect from what I have seen.
