Did you even watch Ortiz vs Berto? That second knockdown that happened to Ortiz showed he aint no quitter. That punch would have knocked out a horse. I didn't think he would get up from it but he did and he showed fighting spirit. Would you accuse Pacquiao of being a quitter? He never got off the canvas from 2 KO's from body shots. Past fights are past fights.

Exactly, which is why I think that figure is bull****. Makes no sense that they would guarantee him $22.5 against Shane, which was high but justified since it was a fight people had called for since '99 and Shane was a big name, but then they would double it for Victor ****ing Ortiz?

Not only that, but now they're talking about Canelo who would require a big guarantee AND would want shares of the PPV. If all that is true, then they would have to do big numbers just to break even.

      Makes no sense.

probably $40 million but with no more ppv upside for floyd. it's too big a risk for hbo's and gbp's business to offer him more than that. either they're confident that they can make at least 1.5 million ppv or they're fooling themselves. floyd-mosley did 1.4 million although they were expecting much higher number than that. with ortiz as opponent, i don't know if it makes sense to expect the same number.

Good! The Whole World Gets To Watch Floyd Get KO'd!

Mayweather took the easier opponent selecting Ortiz over Maidana, who crushed Ortiz in 6 rounds. But it won't matter, because Ortiz is scrappy enough, and hits hard enough, that he will indeed shock the world and knockout Floyd Mayweather!

Mayweathers earnings is both as fighter and through Mayweather promotions. Same way ODH made $50 fighting floyd. My guess is he makes 25 mil as a "fighter" and the other 15 as "promoter".

since when does Alvarez demand PPV shares and huge garuntees on fight cards in the united states which he is on the undercard? you telling me within a year his stock has shot up so high, and you have read and or heard about negotiations to which he "demanded" huge garuntees and shares of a ppv when he was on a Mayweather ppv already regardless?

                Stop making up ****.

that made me lol Mayweather vs Maidana would be May vs Gatti part 2 but it would be x4 worse. Maidana would probably end up with some permanent brain damage. Ortiz is a way better opponent. Can't believe people are saying this is a bad fight.. Floyd is fighting a strong , young SOUTHPAW , prime(almost..) world champion coming off a dominating performance, after a 16 month layoff and people are still hating on him ?? If it was PAC vs Ortiz people wouldnt say ****. And what is the deal with this " Ortiz is not ready yet ? If he's not ready now , when will he be ? The man is a world champion , HE IS SUPPOSED TO STEP UP AND FIGHT THE BEST OUT THERE THATS WHY HE HAS THE BELT !!!!!!!

This one needs all the help it can get. 900K-1 mil buys tops with all the extra promotions. Would've done 800K otherwise.
lol less than a mil? Common put the hate in your left pocket and pull out your common sense from your right. Mayweather and Pac at this point do a mil by themselves.

Mayweather vs Ortiz will probably do better than Pac's best PPV which is far less than Mayweather's best PPV, factually speaking.

This is a great fight and the best option since Pac is fighting a LW at WW and still has yet to Fax over a contract stating they fully agree to random blood testing. Until Pac stops avoiding the blood test we wont see Mayweather in the ring with Pac. So Ortiz, the newly crowned WBC WW Champion is the best option since Pac avoided him like he did Berto and just like he avoided "too good" Mosley when he was a Champion.

Less than a mil you say? Floyd has too many haters that pay his bills for this fight to be less than million.
