No, let me tell you what a trend is.
A trend is..... Manny Pacquiao hiding behind Bob Arum's skirt, while Bob sets up fights with old men, faded champions, and washed up bums.
Let me tell you another trend.
Mayweather getting off his arse to take on a challenge that padded Pacquiao is too scared to take.
Pac wouldnt go anywhere near Mosley, but Mayweather fought him.
Pac wouldnt go anywhere near Marquez, but Mayweather fought him.
Pac wouldnt go anywhere near Ortiz, but Mayweather fought him.
Manny didnt want Shane, until we could all see that Mosley was shot. Manny didnt want Marquez, until we could all see that he was fat and slow above 140. And Manny didnt want Ortiz, regardless.
What the *** is that guy scared of ?
Is he any good or what ?

This boxing, not pro wrestling. What has Manny Pacquiao done, what has he accomplished that makes him P4P? He beats the same people that Floyd beats one year after he has beaten them. Period.
Floyd beats Oscar. Manny fights Oscar.
Floyd beats Hatton. Manny beats Hatton.
Floyd beats Mosley. Manny beats Mosley.
Really?? How are Manny's selections when he isn't fighting one of Floyd's leftovers? Many beats Cotto after being decimated by Margarito and a narrow win over Shane (I thought Shane won). So what? He beats Margarito AFTER Margarito was destroyed by Shane. So what? And Joshua Clottey? Who the hell cares?
Shane's fight with Berto disappears and Floyd steps up and fights him. Huge win for Floyd. Manny fights a beaten Shane then agrees to a third fight with a JMM, a guy he beat twice and was DECIMATED by Floyd fighting at 145. Even if he wins, who cares???
Floyd meanwhile steps in against the kid who just beat the up and coming star of the division. And Floyd will whip him. And once again all eyes should look to Manny and say, "what have you really done"?
Personally, before he wound up face down on the mat, I would have loved to have seen Paul Williams fight Manny at 147. That would have been Manny making a statement. Instead, I guess we can get ready for Manny vs. Ortiz in May of 2012, after Floyd destroys Ortiz, and everyone will say how wonderful Manny is. And Floyd will say what he always says, "Big deal! I beat him last year!"
I used to be a huge Manny fan. But it is ironic, and wrong, that Floyd somehow developed a reputation as playing it safe, when Manny fights Floyd's victims, leftovers, and hand me downs with alarming regularity.
PS: The reason Floyd delays his fight with Manny is because of something he learned being a pro wrestling fan. Hold out as long as you can, make the people hate you, and there will be a limitless number of people who will pay to see you get beaten. The longer Floyd waits, while beating people, the more money he makes when the fight ultimately gets done.
Pac fans, give yourself an uppercut.
This is how a real boxing fan looks at the sport.

Looking back at the results I'd say my assessment was spot on. Mosley was damn near forty years old, and hadn't been in a boxing ring in almost 18 months, enough said right there. Mosley's win over margarito was over blown by everyone, given the circumstances.
That being said I'm not trying to knit pick, I wasn't hyped for that fight what so ever but I'm SUPER hyped for this one. Floyd really stepped up with this move and I'm very happy to see it. It's FAR better then that jmm vs pac cash grab that's coming in november. Props to floyd, hopefully after he takes ortiz to school and pac eats jmm, we can get the real fight we've all been waiting for.

Mayweather usually acts like a punk, and won't fight anyone that might have even a little chance to beat him. But this Ortiz is the next best fight besides Pacquiao, because he is young and hungry, and has a chance to win against any WW including Mayweather, and Pacquiao. Props to Mayweather for fighting this young lion.

I'm struggling to understand this statement given that he has consistently stepped up in weight and has now beaten such great fighters as: Barrera, Marquez, Morales, Diaz, De la Hoya, Hatton, Cotto, Clottey, Margarito and Mosley.
Furthermore he has clearly made attempts to enter into negotiations with Floyd Mayweather.
With all this in mind, could you perhaps try to explain your position, that Manny is in some way a coward/feminine, a little better?

Manny Pacquiao's last 7 opponents.....
Lately, a number of observers have commented that all of Manny Pacquiao's recent opponents have either been old, faded, or inept. Let's take a closer look at Manny's recent fights, and see if there is any truth to that allegation.....
Accusations leveled at Pacquiao include.....
* Manny will not fight a skilled boxer
* Manny will not fight a skilled counter-puncher
* Manny will not fight anybody who is in their prime
* Manny will not fight anybody who is on top of their game
* Manny will not fight anybody who is coming off a win
* Manny will not fight anybody without a distinct advantage
Let's apply that criteria to Pac's last 7 opponents, and see how they stack up.
====================================
David Diaz - Not a top fighter, faded, disadvantaged.....
* Manny will not fight a skilled boxer
* Manny will not fight a skilled counter-puncher
* Manny will not fight anybody who is in their prime
* Manny will not fight anybody who is on top of their game
* Manny will not fight anybody without a distinct advantage
Oscar De La Hoya - Shot, drained, and shrink-wrapped.....
* Manny will not fight anybody who is in their prime
* Manny will not fight anybody who is on top of their game
* Manny will not fight anybody who is coming off a win
* Manny will not fight anybody without a distinct advantage
Ricky Hatton - Not a top fighter, faded, and disadvantaged.....
Miguel Angel Cotto - Badly faded / shopworn, and disadvantaged.....
* Manny will not fight anybody who is in their prime
* Manny will not fight anybody who is on top of their game
* Manny will not fight anybody who is coming off a win
* Manny will not fight anybody without a distinct advantage
Joshua Clottey - Not a top fighter, and strangely innocuous.....
* Manny will not fight a skilled boxer
* Manny will not fight a skilled counter-puncher
* Manny will not fight anybody who is on top of their game
* Manny will not fight anybody who is coming off a win
* Manny will not fight anybody without a distinct advantage
Antonio Margarito - Not a top fighter, faded, disadvantaged.....
Shane Mosley - Faded, shopworn, and disadvantaged.....
* Manny will not fight anybody who is in their prime
* Manny will not fight anybody who is on top of their game
* Manny will not fight anybody who is coming off a win
* Manny will not fight anybody without a distinct advantage
====================================
All-in-all, that is a damn shabby line-up for a supposed P4P fighter, especially when you consider all of the advantages afforded to Manny during those fights..... e.g. fighting for a vacant JMW title, at catch-weight, against a BUM, and using 8oz gloves
Now, I can understand a top fighter taking the odd bout against a lesser opponent.....
but EVERY opponent in your last 7 fights?
How fkn lame is that ?
The last time Pac fought a live dog was Marquez II, and according to a significant number of trainers/fighters/journalists/analysts..... HE LOST!!
SUMMARY: There is no question that Manny is a manufactured fighter, with a padded resume'..... quite simply, just more Top Rank smoke and mirrors.
Lets face it, Mayweather takes on a challenge that padded Pacquiao is too scared to take.
