im staying real! in this case martinez is better than ortiz! watching any marquez fight over ortiz fights is more enjoyable...do u disagree?? as a pac fan im glad mayweather is fighting. the thread was asking if picking ortiz was outshowing pac vs marquez. i say fck no! two fighters with heart boxing... pumping that warrior blood. that other fight does not top that... even on paper....oh and this is only my opinon!

This is a great pick for Floyd.He's fighting a young lion that is now confident and hungry.Ortiz did quit against Maidana, but he beat a better fighter in Berto.I don't look at this as a tune up fight for Floyd. Ortiz is very capable of winning this.Floyd hasn't fought in over a year and with his style, he could be a step slower.You have to give him his props for fighting a younger stronger, and bigger welterweight champ. This is a dangerous fight for him.But I think he will pull it out with his experience.But you just don't know.History has shown that a young hungry fighter that's determined can overcome an older more experienced fighter. Holmes vs Ali and Norris vs Leonard stands out in my mind. A Bernard Hopkins type performance is very rare.I read about the $75 million offer, but I still understand why Floyd wants this fight first. If he beats Ortiz and Manny beats Marquez in 2 exciting fights, that will make their fight against each other even bigger. Now it could be worth $100 million. I also think that Mayweather and Bob Arum are working together in making it a bigger fight. They only paint that hatred picture to us on the outside.But both of these guys have big business minds. They see the over all picture.They know how to stir things up and have their fans at each others throat.But behind closed doors, they are setting up the biggest financial boxing match in history. You have to be completely out of touch or simply not no nothing about fighters to think that a fighter of Floyd's magnitude is afraid of another fighter that's his size.The man has been fighting since he was 8 years old. I can understand that people may not like him,Hell, he does things and says things that irritate me. But to question his heart, that's taking things too far.He's a fighter by nature as well as Manny.And its my honest opinion that he will beat Manny easily. He has the style,speed, size, and skills to do it. Manny couldn't get to Shane, how will he get to a better and more defensive Floyd? Remeber...Manny fights great, but Floyd Mayweather is a great fighter. For those that don't know the difference, you're probably the same ones that think Floyd is a scared fighter. I can remember when the same narrow minded type of people thought Ray Leonard was scared of a bigger and dominant Marvin Hagler.We all know the result of that fight.And those who say it was controversial, maybe, but look at Ray's performance. Still one of the best in boxing history. Expect the same from Floyd.

When or Who Was the Last Young Fighter In his Prime that Manny Defeated??
Who was the Last Undefeated Champ that Many Defeated??
Who was the Last Fighter that Many Defeated That was coming off a Career Defining Win??
Yet I can Many 8-10 of these Fights for Floyd(FACT)

But everyone knows the facts about Manny walking away from a drug test he "agreed" he would take after the hundreds of excuses they came up with to avoid the test altogether.

Just put 2 and 2 together:

Floyd's never failed a drug test himself and he's willing to take a random drug test with no cut-offs.

There are NO fighters at 140-147 that pose a significant threat to May or Pac but each other. As long as they don't fight each other all we can hope for is that Pac and May pick the best fights available and May did so with Ortiz. I don't mind Pac fighting Marquez either because Marquez deserves the pay-day and I'm tired of hearing about Marquez's robbery in their last fight.

I don't think I've ever heard Pac say he wanted to fight May.

If Floyd pitches another shutout against Ortiz i think we can get ready for Floyd Martinez next year. i have a feeling team Pac will never budge about the testing and Martinez will get his chance.

May and Pac are fighting the perfect tune-ups for each other. Pac against a superb conventional boxer and May against a fast and explosive southpaw. Guess my hopes are showing.
