Furthermore you seem to completely overlook or undervalue the fact that he has stepped up in weight consistently throughout his career.

And of course the final, glaring hole in your argument is that Pacquaio has openly stated that he wants to fight Mayweather who, I'm sure you will agree:

      * Is in his prime.
      * Is on top of his game.
      * Is coming off a win.
      * Has a distinct (technical) advantage.

It is largely Mayweather's reticence which is preventing the fight, not Pacquaio's. So if you are of the opinion (which I have to assume that you are) that Mayweather is p4p #1, Pacquaio's clear willingness to have this fight happen should be enough to stop you from making ludicrous assertions against his bravery or 'masculinity'.
Blah Blah Blah, did you write that much crap to defend Barry Bonds?

hes a WW, he didnt step up, anything. stepping up is fighting someone without trying to compromise them before they ever get in the ring.

come back to reality, son. that goes for your entire post

" stepping up " would be fighting the best at lightweight instead of Diaz.

" stepping up " would be fighting the best at JWW instead of Hatton.

" stepping up " would be fighting the #1 welter Mosley, not the faded, shop-worn, clearly-vulnerable Cotto.

" stepping up " would be fighting Cotto at 147.

" stepping up " would be submitting to harmless random blood tests.

" stepping up " would be fighting the #1 welter Mosley, not the strangely innocuous bum Clottey.

" stepping up " would be fighting a JMW champion to win your 8th divisional title.

" stepping up " would be fighting any genuine JMW to win your 8th divisional title, not that welterweight bum Margarito.

" stepping up " would be not fighting faded champions who can clearly no longer pull the trigger, as-was the case with Mosley. It is a joke that the whole world could see that Mosley was shot, and yet Manny honestly thought that Shane was still a threat

" stepping up " would be fighting Victor Ortiz, instead of the 40yo midget Marquez.

No, Pac has had plenty of chances to " step up ", and he chose not to.

            " talk my plomoter "

I can't help thinking Mayweather chose Ortiz because he saw him quit against Maidana. Pacquiao would never quit in a fight and he is virtually impossible to discourage and that is why Mayweather is very reluctant to get into the ring with him. I don't think he will ever fight Pacman. Mayweather's legacy is tainted except for hardcore fans. He won't face a great fighter at his peak.

But Ortiz is coming up. He looked stronger and more determined against Berto than I have ever seen him. He's bigger and stronger and much younger than Mayweather and that gives the fight credibility.

Leonard found his Terry Norris and Mayweather might find something similar in Ortiz. Leonard however faced Duran, Hearns and Hagler in their primes and Mayweather can't touch that.

Leading up to this bout the media is going to compare him with what happened to berto. He also had a long period with no fight and lost to ortiz. That is how they'll sell the fight with a risk that mayweather may also lose.
