Thats exactly the thing that makes UFC so great. Their monopoly status makes them more interested in building stars, and putting on great fightcards every month.
Compare that to boxing with its 100s of sneaky promotors trying to cash in on that one big star while the sport suffers.
Guys like Bob Arum is CANCER to this sport.
This is what boxing needs. Someone running the whole show. Doubt it will ever happen though.

Besides Zuffa(WEC, Strikeforce, UFC) what other big MMA leagues are there? Dream is in Japan, that's the only one that comes close.
I cant rattle of the top. But is Pride still active or defunct?

can't you be both? Are people not a fan of basketball and football simultaneously?

ufc (zuffa) bought pride many years ago. UFC has been the biggest promotion ever since that happened.
Some of the fighters went to the ufc, others stayed in japan.

        Pride is dead.

Pride was bought out by UFC and the UFC signed all of the pride fighters to their organization so Pride doesn't exist anymore.

Most "UFC" fans in this thread are bigger fans of boxing.

Boxing comes first to me, but I love both sports.

Because most boxing fans care about this. I don't watch UFC and I couldn't care less which sport is more popular. As long as boxing stays on TV I don't care how popular UFC gets.

the health & future of a sport is always depends on how great its stars are.

UFC DOES NOT HAVE A SINGLE STAR THAT TRANSCENDS its sport.

The fact that amateurish joke of an athlete like kimbo slice & brock lesnar can come to MMA & automatically become a star is a bad omen for MMA/UFC.

                MMA ....

where rejects of other sports come to be successful.

Today UFC = MMA. There is no competition. At all.

WBO is nothing like UFC. I don't know why you brought that up.

this is like saying football is not bigger than boxing because NFL is a league.
No it's not. You're a ****** and a moron. Boxing is not driven by PPV. Boxing has far more normal shows and generates on a world wide level most of its money from NON PPV. The only PPV you're referring to is HBO boxing for the most part. So you're comparing entire UFC to just HBO a single channel? Are you dumb or just ******ed?

There are hundreds of boxing matches worldwide per day that you never hear of and they are generating money. All this money on a world wide scale makes boxing utterly DOMINATE UFC/MMA in total earnings. Boxing worldwide destroys UFC in total earnings. You're comparing only PPV which is the ONLY thing UFC has, but PPV is only a very small part (mostly HBO) of mainstream boxing.

Learn what you're talking about first before exposing yourself as a complete moron. Boxing earns far more $$$ world wide than UFC/MMA.
