hahah! philippines is supposedly a christian nation, but i think majority still believe in superstitions which was handed to us by our spanish ancestors. sometimes, we can't avoid it because the elders would always remind us about it. so it's just like, okay there's no harm in listening.

        • It still amazes me how anyone can not be su****ious.

Freddy Roach = trainer of know drug cheats

Justin Fortune = former strength and conditioning coach of Manny Pacquiao is a known drug cheat

Alex Ariza = current strength and conditioning coach of Manny Pacquiao is not allowed to train olympic athletes and was also involved in the Balco scandal

Shane Mosley never failed a drug test.

Tommy morrison never failed a drug test

Few fighters are as candid as Tommy Morrison, who admitted in a 2005 interview with RingsideReport.com that he used steroids throughout his boxing career.

"You become bigger, faster, and stronger,” Morrison said. “It helps with your endurance and recovery time between rounds. I looked around and, from what I saw, everybody was doing the same ****. It wasn’t something that was talked about openly; but when you looked around, you could tell. I just looked at it as bettering my chances. Without steroids, I wouldn’t have gone as far as I did. I guarantee you that.”

People are obviously beating the current system so I have no problems with fighters going outside the commission and negotiating for olympic style random blood tests. I do have a problem with any fighter unwilling to submit to these tests whether it be Manny Pacquiao, Bernard Hopkins or anyone else. If you are a true boxing fan you will agree with this.

america is supposed to be a modern, first-world country but it has no lack of its share of very superstitious athletes.

Sounds to me like Manny is the boss when it suits him.

True boxing fans like true warriors, Marquez, Pacquiao, Chavez, Barrera, Benitez, Duran, Hagler, I can go on forever.. Those are the fighters that go in to WIN and lay it all on the line.. Some others just go in for the big payday and refuse to take on big opposition.. They swindle close minded fans into buying their PPV garbage fights..
wow wow wow, and hahahaha, who the F#ck has Pac fought in the last few years besides Cotto that deserved a shot at his so called p4p crown? half his opposition were coming off losses and others had to fight him at catchweight to meet his b!tch demands, come off it, u wanna talk about blind fans take a look in the mirror, i use to be a massive Pac fan MASSIVE, but come on man, even i found it hard to defend him, he's always talkin about pleasing the fans Bull****, he lost a lot of fans because of that whole drug testing cr@p, when all he had to do was take the tests and put the matter to rest but no, his own team made it look very sus with all the excuses, fear of needles, weakening, superstition etc, and the fans dont want to see a drug cheat beat up on over the hill, shot fighters, but please let me ask you, PLEASE answer me, WHO has he fought in the last few years to make him p4p king? think about it before answering, dont fool yourself, and what have the guys he's fought done to earn a shot at him? with the exception of Cotto who he fought at CATCHWEIGHT for a TITLE lol, come on man.
oh and before u assume that im a Mayweather fan, no, personally im sick of both of them, 2 of the so called best fighters of our era and none of them will fight anyone worthy, not even each other, give me a break.

if you took a little time to do some research, you'd find out that DRUG TESTS WERE NO LONGER AN ISSUE.

Ross Greenberg of HBO confirmed this.

Richard Schaefer of Golden Boy himself confirmed this.

and there are SEVERAL videos of Pac ACCEPTING TO TAKE THE TESTS.

yet some people here for some reason put their heads in the sand and ignore these facts.

i agree with all the tests for an even playing field, although i personally think that the frequency may put a little risk on the fighter when a fighter trains. blood clots travel when you move, especially when you do strenuous activities, and it could go to the lungs, to the heart or the brain. i think it would be better that after the test, the fighter take a rest (no training) for a day or two, coz i don't think the blood clots dissolve easily. but then, it's just me. i can't impose my will on anyone if a fighter doesn't wanna agree for his own personal reasons, i don't take it against them. but i personally think that pacquiao and freddy roach are not cheaters. i cannot speak so much of roach than i can speak for pacquiao because we know pacquiao. as a boxer, he's never been a cheater in and out of the ring and i don't think he would go as far as cheating to win, aside from the fact that steroids are not known to us in the philippines. with the fighters who cheated that roach trains, i don't think roach would impose on his fighters to cheat. i don't think, that's the way he is. they might have done it all by themselves and i don't think they would tell roach, or even anyone, that they are doing it (doping). as for justine fortune i don't know him. as for alex ariza, i am not so sure about him, honestly.
