Guys that fought 15 and 20 rounds were in better shape than guys that fight for 12.

Boxing is the only sport that is actually going backwards.

I hear talk of superior training and nutrition but I sure as hell don't see it in today's figthters.

I dont think thats quite true , you cant say 15 rounds is harder because they pace to do the 15 the elite today could do 15 no problems at all , go back further to the 20-30 round fights and they landed hardly anything and threw hardly anything , its all relative to output , fighters across the board are more dynamic today with more speed and power to weight ratio , better technique today ,, proof is there in all sports that have a definitive win like a race with a stopwatch , look at the record books all the old records are broken by a big margin , if they were better back in the day the records from then will still be on top today .

The old fighters get held on this ridiculous pedastal and are always assumed to be greater then the ones now.

All sports have evolved across the board, yet boxing is the only one where haven't we actually accepted it.

Training techniques, nutrition, and exercise of these times make the ones in the past look like garbage. The old school fighters are certaintly legends but they cant hold a candle to the fighters now.
