WTF, Sergio is getting a pass for planning to go down in weight instead of going up to SMW to face Bute, Froch, and others.

Chavez or Zbik, are you kidding me? He should go back down to 154 if those are the middleweights he wants to fight. Don't waste our time.

Yet he was able to cope with it and box his way to a victory. My point was, if he can handle Pavlik (who was basically a smw fighting at 160) I'm sure he can find success against some of the guys at 168.

Martinez was 177 lbs 23 days away from the Paul Williams fight, he's going the wrong direction, IMO.

why didn't he ponder this when his last fight was against a junior middleweight?

              Can't blame Martinez at all.

160 is pretty much dead at the moment.

154 and 168 is where the money is at.

Martinez seems like a full fledged Middleweight now, but he may still be too small for 168. Although I think Martinez at 168 could be interesting.

If he feels like he can make 154 comfortably, Martinez should go for it.

because they'll probably be moving up themselves and sergio is a natural jmw who started off as a welterweight

Hey 5'10 Martinez, Just wait until the Super Six is over and take on one of them guys like planned.

In the meantime stay at MW but keep punking Manny Pac about being "handed" (plaster free guarantee) your vacant title at 154 vs a 5'11 cheater! Nobody at 154 wants to say you name they just wanted your title when it became vacant.

Martinez would be at significant disadvantages at 168. I can't blame him for not wanting to move up there. Let him continue to move between 154 and 160, that's where he should be.

Didn't Martinez say it himself that he has a hard time trying to make 154.
