I don't understand why people still wanna see this fight. Juan Manuel Lopez was a train wreck waiting to happen. He has been hurt so often and hurt pretty bad, too. Gamboa should unify at 126 or move up if he can. Gamboa is obviously the more promising fighter.

Wow...everyone has really lost confidence in JuanMa. It's like his career is over. I think this line of thinking is a little premature. Lopez is young and able. Despite the bad look against Mtagwa, and the loss to Salido, JuanMa's still alive. Unless Lopez loses a rematch to Orlando, or suffers another loss to a lesser fighter, JuanMa's career lives. Lopez needs to reinvent himself a little; he still has the tools that carried him this far. Why give up on him so soon? The last I checked, many great fighters have losses on their records. Losses are a fact of life, especially when you face strong opposition. Let's wait and see....

I think Yuriorkis is one of the most electrifying boxers currently in the game. I truly hope his exciting style helps him fulfill his promise. But, as with JuanMa, we've yet to see what Gamboa's ultimate potential really is. I would love to see both of these young stars fight, despite the fact that one of them has lost a little luster.

All I am saying is that if this was just a bad performance then when JuanMa gets back on track with a rematch win they should get this thing done before another bad performance happens because its just not going to become a mega fight no matter how much Arum tries to build it up.

I've got no problem with that. Gamboa and Lopez are still the ones everyone wants to see matched up at 126. Would anyone really rather see another featherweight fight more? I don't. My feelings on this are the same as before the JuanMa loss: Make it happen as soon as possible.

Not at all, Juanma after Salido(if he wins teh rematc) will fight Burns or Fana at 130 then Gamboa if he moves up or a 3rd fight with Salido but at 130

I really wanted to see Gamboa and Lopez duke it out at 126, but I'll take it at 130. The danger people fear is that JuanMa might lose another fight en route to a date with Yuri; then the shine is really gone from their match-up. Then there's the possibility that Gamboa loses on the way, as well.

You know what? The real shame of it is that this fight has been held up for a couple of years now, in the name of making a buck. Now the fans have waited for (apparently) nothing, because this fight just doesn't have the same mystique anymore.

Tactically, this would've been the right move. However, it's apparent that the Salido match-up was set up to hype the planned showdown with Gamboa. Obviously, JuanMa was expected to handle Orlando, preferably in better fashion than Yuri did. The plan backfired.
