Steward might not be a bad idea.
I think Steward and Lopez would have some bad communication problems. Besides the language, I think Juanma's personality might clash with Stewards.

Now that Lopez has taken his first loss, on a TKO no less, it's clear that something has to give. I think JuanMa has what it takes to adjust and get his career back on track. Salido should've been taken more seriously; his performance against Gamboa showed a tough, competent adversary.
There is like more than one warning sign. Had Rafa not quit on his stool, it might have made the fight more interesting.

Salido is cagey and a survivor. Good/decent student of the game but does not excel in one particular attribute and just basically scrapping by due to poor record. I bet you he was mighty serious about this fight sitting and watching the tape countless times. ****ing struck gold.

The first thing is that Juanma must admit (privately at least) that he lost and he must change and that can only come about with new trainer. Like them Kung-Fu movie, time to get a new teacha. If he really has trouble making the weight, just move up.

To be honest Im not sure.

I would say Nacho because of the languange and he can teach him some better defense.

and the he needs to drastically improve his speed, stamina, and defense and if possible adquire a new chin, or else he will not last long in the game IMHO
Stamina and defense can be improved significantly. Speed and chin are natural gifts; the room for improvement is limited. JuanMa will always be relatively slow. His beard isn't bad, IMO, but he's chosen to fight in a style that requires a better chin. That leads us to his defense: Lopez can definitely improve that aspect of his game with a new trainer. With better "D", his chin won't be as big an issue. Stamina? A (new?) conditioning coach would have to be brought in.

I've read a lot about how many Puerto Rican fans have been alienated by JuanMa's perceived lack of humility. I don't see a big problem. Then again, I'm not living on the island, and hearing and reading all about his humility issues. If there's a concern in that department, maybe the Salido loss will make Lopez reassess himself in that area as well. From where I'm standing, JuanMa seems like a good, young kid with a talent that's allowing him to rise above the rest. He's trying to live up to his image of what it means to be an idol. There will be some problems along the way; it's a difficult role. At least he's not a scumbag, that I would have a problem with.

A win against Salido would be the route to redeem himself but it is not an easy task. They were lining up a second Marquez fight so you know the route that Arum was taking with Lopez.

Lopez has to over come the Salido loss and put a string of good KOes against live opposition to get to the top of the division again. His defense is just bad and he might be relying to much on his power to get bailed out
