Ortiz is a good fighter. He's young, strong ,good funamentals.. but berto was beeging for an upset. I honestly think people are going a lil too hard with this gravy train. I don't think berto was in shape for the fight, and if he fights anybody of quality would get stopped inhis next fight. Ortiz is good just not that good. I would to see him mix it up with khan tho.

He does need to use it more consistently, but he seem to do that against Campbell, Antonio Diaz in his comback fights, he just fought a little more aggressive against Peterson.

Cant say I remember him seeing him do that, maybe he did, but I mean looking at it, it look like Cotto is the one who utilized the jab more so than Manny.

Manny is wide open up the middle of his guard cause of the way he fights with his hands glued to the side of his head, he also moves his head in a predictable rhythm, so the lead right hand will break his momentum as he rolls foward, as will the jab which Cotto and Morales utilized against him, as you need to actually parry/block punches to fend of a jab. Manny also shoots in with his left hand without having created his openings with the jab, so the counter uppercut might be there as he shoots in, all that without talking about the fact that Mayweather will also offset him with lateral movement, that he's considerably longer than him. Manny is 5ft 6 with something like a 66 inch reach.

I think Ortiz's southpaw stance, better fundamentals, power, consistency, would offer up as much problems, or at least more of a puzzle as to who might win.

Call me presumptuous, but I feel I already know how Manny-Mayweather's fight plays out, however Ortiz's, not so much. Maybe Ortiz doesn't beat Mayweather, but its a more intriguing fight to me, than what Manny-Mayweather is.

He does though, maybe he doesn't always land it, but he uses it to control/gauge range so he can counter if you try to walk in, or so he can shoot in with a power shot.

Not to mention that Pac uses his straight left lead in the same way most fighters employ a conventional jab, only it does more damage and is thrown with more speed.

But I don't even know why people are discussing this like it's a serious topic. Victor Ortiz on his best day is only good enough to maybe be Manny's sparring partner. Does anyone really think Floyd would turn down a fight with Ortiz if he was offered $50 mil for it? I think it's hilarious that some Floyd fans think Manny is such an easy fight for him, but the Mayweathers (Sr especially) wholeheartedly disagree and no reasonable amount of money can get Floyd out of his 'vacation' and into the ring.

Beating an overrated, untested cabbie killer (and looking sloppy while doing it) doesn't bring you to the level of the best fighter of a generation... let's keep things in perspective here people. What next, Rubio is a tougher fight than Cotto for Martinez?
