  • Roy - James Toney, Vinny Paz, Gonzalez, Hopkins, Ruiz, Tarver, Trinidad.

Floyd - Hernandez, Corrales, Castillo twice, Manfredy, Gatti, Judah, De La Hoya, Hatton, and Mosley.

I don't know about you, but Floyd has a better resume. I don't care if you include that "Castillo beat Floyd" because Tarver beat Jones, and taking that win away from Jones and he gets blown away.

Roy was obviously the more talented fighter, but he was the FIRST EVER, media hyped cherry picker.

im not saying it was a great win. it was an ok win that gained the lineal status. either way, i was a teen but i def was a hardcore fan. my fav fighter at the time was winky wright.

fact is Baldomir didnt do jack **** after Mayweather beat him.

I give credit to Mayweather for beating Baldomir, but not a huge amount. it would have been better if Mayweather beat Cotto or Margarito

as for Judah...its a solid win. Judah is one of those guys that always gives fighters trouble at least for a little bit, but the thing is he did lose to a number of other fighters, most notably at WW(Cotto, Clottey, Spinks, Baldomir).
Your memory is shot to hell..

        When Floyd fought Baldomir...

Cotto was still getting wobbled at 140 and Tony was hiding in WBO-land fighting the likes of Manuel Gomez and the dreaded Hercules Keyvelos.

Damn you Floyd Mayweather for not dropping everything to fight a slow-ass mofo that couldn't even beat an out of shape Daniel Santos..

Brian Kenny said Floyd was going to duck Baldomir.

          LOL

          I remember it too.

Cotto won the WBA title dominating Quintana a month after Floyd-Baldomir, and Margarito had a few title defenses already and had beaten Cintron.

I would have liked to see Mayweather fight one of them after or before Baldomir, and in hindsight obviously both those wins would have been more respected than Floyd's win over Baldomir. can you really argue against that?

cotto and clottey damn near killed zab.

zab was quick enough to catch cory but other than that, he's NOTHING at ww. have you ever looked at his WW resume? it's a quarter step aboive rafael pineda's
Kostya ended a lot of fights early. Zab had Tszyu in trouble and his immaturaty kept him from getting a chance to continue. Cotto is a Hall of Famer. Now its no reason on paper he should have lost to Baldo but **** happens. A hard head will take you a long way in boxing. Im not say beating Zab should be over glorified victory but its solid. Not "Well he beat Zab but...." . But what?

Roy also has wins over Jorge Fernando Castro, Reggie Johnson, Harding, Hill, Griffin, and Woods. I wouldnt count Roy's win over Trinidad personally.

Floyd also has good wins over Chavez and and Corley that you ignored.

Sorry, I made the list on pure memory. Forgot about Chavez, even though I was there live.

Hey memory man, who had the most defenses of a ww title at that time by far?

And clottey. Zab was a huge underachiever.

Ow he's becoming an overachiever cuz he's fighting back at his best weight. Zab's. Ww record is like .500, is that really a great win for Floyd?
