Give me 1 fighter right now (someone above Dzinziruk/Yuri like you claim) that Martinez is avoiding (Cotto doesn't apply remember, Martinez wants him) that if he stopped in the 8th round you'd be extremely impressed.

because that non-old and out of shape version of Santos and Julio are better fighters than just-got-dominated-by-Pawel-Wolak Foreman and old man Mayorga...?
and thats even ignoring all the other fights Dzin has had at 154

I dont think Dzin is an amazing fighter or anything, but Cotto has done very little at 154.

its was simply a solid win by Martinez in an impressive performance. it just helped solidify that he wasnt a flash in the pan more than anything else.

he should want to kick pirog's ass but he's chasing the big money easy fights just like pac. martinez beat pavlik and williams so now he's allowed to cherry pick forever.

Martinez said he wanted to fight Cotto, but would he be willing to move down to 154 for the fight?

thats really the only place Im interested in it happening.

This is the issue I have with people complaining about the Dzinziruk fight. Martinez wouldn't get any more credit for a Pirog fight. Yes, he KO'd Danny Jacobs. Whoopity-fuckin-do...

I'm pretty sure he's said he's willing but there is no chance that fight happens. Martinez isn't a box office attraction, and Cotto is. Cotto gains nothing but an ugly loss by fighting him.

During the initial negations a few months back, it was 155 in order to put Martinez' WBC belt on the line and so that there's no danger in Cotto losing his 154 WBA belt. Now that Martinez has been stripped, it would definitely be at 154.
