HBO caved. What if they don't cave next time?

He'd make a whole lot less on an independent PPV than he would a WCB card.

Ohhhhhh but it wasn't Cotto who beat him. If it was, all of a sudden he would be the greatest threat, look at what you stans did with Mayorga .

fighters don't always fight for the most money although they would like to convince the fans that they do. some fights just aren't worth taking the risk. the most likely scenario is hbo turns down martinez-manfredo but approves some other lackluster opponent like kermit cintron or brian vera.

I agree that is what will likely happen.

kind of obvious. the ones that are beating it up as some sort of legendary victory over a proven great fighter are the ones with an agenda against pac. anything that helps them degrade his achievements they jump on like monkeys on banana tree

I don't have a problem with who he fought as I've never seen a company turn around so badly as HBO and their boxing department. Its the fact that I don't think Sergio has even faced a top 10 P4P, yet he's ranked 2 or 3 already thats the biggest issue, not the fact that he beat up an unknown.
