you are exactly right. people think it's a good win only because dzinziruk was undefeated. that's because he hasn't fought very many good fighters more than anything but i guess people don't care. if you want to fight an undefeated fighter why not fight a top guy actually in your division named pirog? oh wait he's not a draw like dzinziruk that's why yea that must be it.

Dzinziruk has never been down, is a solid fighter (and did win a couple rounds against Martinez) and did what he could.

I don't know what people want.
Its bull****. Dizzy beat Santos when Santos was still a damn good fighter. Dizzy is absolutely a to competitor, Martinez is just that good. People will say the same **** if and when he stops Pirog.

yeah they will say why is martinez fighting a top middleweight when he could have fought a jr middleweight like Zaurbek Baysangurov.

Martinez fighting anybody in junior middleweight is nothing to get excited about. I don't care if he scores a KO, it should be expected. I'm glad he's willing to fight anybody but he shouldn't expect us to drop our pants just because he beats an opponent who everyone felt he should beat. I think Martinez is an exciting fighter but I won't buy into this "maravella" bull**** until I see him fight a legitimate fighter from SMW. There is no real competition for him at MW.

IMHO, lets not rush and get carried away with sergio being OMFG HES P4P the best!!

I for one, will be impressed and acknowledge his current ranking if he can moved up 1, 2, 3, or more weight divisions and beat bigger stronger guys... just like the current P4P did.
After all, you dont see Pac getting #1 P4P staying at featherweight and challenging fighters a division lower than him.

I agree that the win shouldn't be taken out of context, the stylistic matchup was a nightmare for Dzinziruk. As I said before the fight, I didn't think Dzinziruk would be able to win a round. Guys who fight like Dzinziruk, who rely on the jab and shuffle forward in that stand up European style do very well against guys who rely more on their skills, but they normally don't do well with unpredictable styles.

yeah dzinziruk is a pretty good junior middleweight. why is martinez fighting him though? they aren't in the same division and dzinziruk isn't some elite fighter that should be fighting out of his comfort zone(154)

why would anyone knowledgeable be worried about dzinziruk? the styles heavily favor martinez and when you add the fact that he's the much bigger man it was just a mismatch. a guy like pirog on the other hand provides a much more difficult challenge stylistically because he's unpredictable, has power and he's a top middleweight.

dibella is matching martinez soft on purpose and fans are going nuts over it? dibella's comical list of potential opponents and his willingness to fight dzinziruk but not pirog showed he wanted no part of pirog. now dibella admitted martinez is getting a soft touch next against a guy like lee or manfredo. he's just stringing fans along with easy fights while raking in the money. don't support this crap no matter who does it.

I never thought Dzinziruk was all that good, but I can't say that he's on the level of Yuri Foreman. At least he could probably still beat Wolak. That's a typical statement from a true Cottard that Sergei is on the level of Foreman. Lol.
