Martinez on the other hand dropped Dzinziruk 5 times, all throughout the fight. It was never close. He had to take rounds off for Dzinziruk to even attempt to catch up. Was it the best win in the world? No. Dzinziruk isn't this amazing p4p type fighter. But it's better than anything the other top dogs are doing (aside from maybe Donaire, if he beats Moreno impressively).
I suggest you watch that fight again. The injury to Foreman happen in the 7th round to that point Cotto had won arguably 5 of the first 6 rounds and not less than 4 and was coming on strong in the 6 and start of the 7. He was outboxing and beating Foreman to the punch every single time.

would people give pacquiao credit for beating kotelnik at 147? i think not. kotelnik is a better fighter than dzinziruk in my opinion and has a much better resume. people would trash pacquiao for taking such an easy fight but they are acting like dzinziruk was a great win for martinez.

the only difference was dzinziruk had a flashy undefeated record(not really should have lost to konecy) and kotelnik has a couple losses(most disputed) if martinez wanted to fight a guy with an undefeated record he could have fought piro...**** him!

This is not about about Cotto. This thread is about how fans have gone insane after Martinez win. They are acting like he beat an All-Time great when all he did was beat a Yuri Foreman level fighter who Cotto beat and din't get half as many props.

It was a solid win against a good(not great) fighter who he made to look like he didn't belong in the ring with him.

I'd give Pacquiao credit for beating Kotelnik at 147. It doesn't really make sense for the fight to be at 147 as neither guy would really be at an advantage since neither is naturally a welter, but so be it. Pacquaio-Kotelnik is a better fight than Pacquiao-Mosley in my opinion.

The big difference is there are tons of fights Pacquiao could take between 140-147, not so much for Martinez at 154-160. He wants Cotto but big Bob ain't gonna let Cotto get destroyed like that. The only real fights at the moment between 154-160 are Paul Williams and Kermit Cintron (both he's beatin handily) and some of the Europeans (Pirog, Golovkin, Sturm, Etc.). There isn't much for him to accomplish. It's the curse of his weight class...
