  • I want to see this bout bad as I really like Manny's chances.

152-154 is fair and let Sergio throw his MW strap on the line to add to the intrigue of this fight.

I was thinking the same thing. Can't **** on Pac for fighting the #1 guy in the division (Hatton) and give Martinez props for beating Kelly Pavlik who was the #1 guy in his division as well. In defense of Kelly Pavlik, he was regarded as a dangerous opponent for anyone because of his punching power.

Pac just validated he belonged to the WW when he demolished ODLH, after that he went to JWW to defeat Ricky.. while Floyd chosen LW JMM to meet him at WW, and not satified cheated him by coming overweight from the agreed catchweight, and as expected, he schooled JMM. Pac returned back to WW but that time, Mosley was then locked-up with Berto, Pac then picked Cotto after failed facing Floyd. When Berto withdrew in connection to the earthquake disaster in his homeland Haiti, that was the time Floyd picked up Shane, and IMO, because of too much pressure from fans of not taking a bigger opponent from that of JMM.. and the rest is history. So, there was no way that Pac and Shane should met in Pac's history at WW, other than just now. What do you think??
Manny should have fought Mosley instead of Clottey or Margarito.

He had all of last year to make that fight.

And, if Manny "validated he belonged to the WW when he demolished ODLH"..... then why did he demand a catchweight for Cotto?

Sergio did make an offer to Manny like that but Arum said no way.

          • Between the two(Floyd and Manny) of them, who would have the slightest chance to beat Sergio?

I think too many people are counting him out because of his fight against Floyd and Mora. Both styles are a nightmare for Mosley. Pac has a more offensive style. Could be entertaining while it last.
Manny overstepped a lot of very good fights and has fought more fighters coming off big losses than any champion I've ever heard of. Shane knows this is it for him and he is desperate to get back in the mix. Either he's getting paid to dance or he's gonna try to break Manny and I don't see how Manny can win cause Shane aint gonna run from him. Shane knows if he loses to Manny he will be stripped of the Sugar :-)

                Agreed...

I do give props to Manny for beating Clottey, Hatton, Margarito

Diaz was the worst version of any kind of champion
DLH hadn't seen 147 in over 7 years...
They made Cotto come in sapped at 145..

Shane CAN take Pac out... But whether he will or not remains to be seen.

I just wish you could throw Floyd/Pacman/Sergio/Shane/Cotto/Berto in a bag and see who makes it out alive... If we can take anything from the failed initial Super Six, its that things get very interesting when you make ALL of the top guys fight each other, and that styles make fights.

                • I dont know if its just me but i see Martinez as just too big for anyone in ww jmw right now... The guy is a BIG middle weight... I think the only way to get him is at a catchweight but i wonder what it would be at... Floyd and pac both can get down to 147 so i think they would try to get him low... the question is will he do it

                  • This says it all.....

The sensational victory is Martinez’s third in a row against an elite opponent.

THE RING's No. 4 fighter pound for pound outpointed Kelly Pavlik to win the RING middleweight championship last April and then stopped Williams in their much-anticipated rematch in November. That followed fights against Kermit Cintron (draw) and Williams (majority-decision loss) that many believe he won.

Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. – and possibly Nonito Donaire – rank above him in pound-for-pound rankings. However, no fighter has accomplished more than Martinez over the past two years when you consider his opponents.

How the hell is Donaire above Sergio Martinez in the rankings? Told you guys that Sergio Martinez is about to top them guys.

I like Sergio. He's big and strong but I saw him get hit a lot by a guy not nearly as fast or clever as Floyd. Floyd would not try to KO Sergio. I think it would be a great fight and very winnable for Floyd. Floyd can come in @ 150 with the full focus on outsmarting and outboxing Sergio.
