Thoughts and best wishes to my bro's in Japan, I really hope you guys hang in there through this. We just got our city shredded by an earthquake, but I can't imagine what the folks in Japan are going through right now.

Damn you for - cunningly - bringing this silly topic into perspective

I simply cannot accept that you would condone, NAY, suggest even, that a fight for the lineal MW title, be fought at either 152lbs, or 154lbs.

Manny is a politician, can't he just make it law that it is mandatory to wear a "I love Manny" t-shirt?

I just don't get why you guys gotta keep making excuses for Pac ?

Is he simple? or disadvantaged in some way?

Why can't you hold him to the same standards that are expected from everybody else..... including the many genuine greats?

What else does Sergio bring to the table?

No one, in the history of the sport, just goes up in weight against an elite fight without some type of gain.

Usually it's money, but seeing how Manny can make just as much if not more
against someone at 147....thats not enough to lure him up.

Sometimes it's for legacy....well we've already seen Mannh slay bigger fighters and he is already a HOF/ATG so again that isn't enough to lure him up.

However, Sergio has the secong most prestigious title in the history of the sport (HW is the only division with more prestige than MW) so I can see the opportunity to win that strap being enough to make him take this bout.

And before you respond look at it like this:

A prime Roy just isnt gonna go up and face a beltless HW to prove a point. Same with B-Hop if he ever decided to go up. Unless it involves making history by winning a prestigious title.....then why take the risk if you can't reap the rewards.

Your post is pointless, because..... Manny will never fight Sergio Martinez.

Or any genuine JMW for that matter

Since Marquez II, the " new " and " improved " Manny has not fought ANYBODY unless they were either at a significant disadvantage or coming off a loss...... and genuine JMW's don't really fall into that category

For that reason, and because of the "aspersions" that have been cast upon Manny, and also because of his subsequent failure to disprove those "aspersions"..... your ATG rating falls short.

          I wish we knew.

          Is Manny's " second wind " genuine ?

          Is he..... " special " ?

          Or, is he..... " cunning " ?

          Again, I wish we knew.

But..... it is a joke that Manny will not fight Marquez unless he goes up TWO DIVISIONS to 147, and yet would not even defend his JMW title against a genuine junior middleweight, ANY genuine JMW.

But then, I suppose your viewpoint on that would be "hard luck, Manny makes the rules"..... or "Manny is the draw".....

          ..... or, something like that?

They should get him down to 145.

Martinez will agree if he wants that killer payday.

              Cotto did.

Exactly. He still can defend his 154-belt that he and Marg 'ritually' fought over in November. Running away from a challenge to defend a belt is the worst ducking ever (if one could classify different levels of ducking). And, people, stop that ****** excuse that Pac is too small for Martinez. He didn't just dip his toe in 154, he fought for a belt and took it unharmed, unscathed, from someone who stands 5'11' and KO'd the current P4P No3. I'm sure martinez won't be asking for an OST on Pac, coz that would be horrible, isn't it? This is professional boxing, anything goes!
