One more win like this, or Pacquiao fighting another sham of a fight, and Martinez should move to number one. But until then, you people are just desperate to rip Pacquiao from that top spot.
Good post. If you compare their opponents, Martinez is not even close. Pavlik was overrated going into their fight. Yes, he was the champion but was no longer in his prime. The only real opposition that Martinez beat is Williams.

I am basing the hype and the possible number 1 ranking to his skill. He showcased exceptional power and speed that could give huge problems to anyone, including Pacquiao and Mayweather.

        Agree man.

As I said a while back, one can't hold on to the past especially if they're not facing top guys. It's gotta end man.

Sergio is definitely on the P4P list but number 1? You guys need to slow down a bit. SD is a World Champion at 54 and moved up to 60 and lost to a fighter he was suppose to. Dzinziruk isn't even ranked at 60. He's a solid fighter at 54 but he was never suppose to win this fight to begin with.

Pac fighting Mosley at 47 is bad? At least Mosley is still ranked in the top 5 in that division. The Margarito fight is a sham but Tony has beaten some quality guys. Clottey was a top 5 WW when Pac fought him and so was Cotto. Hatton was the number 1 ranked guy at 40 when he fought Manny.

As long as Pac wins against Mosley he will still remain number 1. Sergio slides into 2 due to Mayweathers inactivity and Donaire in at 3. If Floyd doesnt fight this year hes not even top 10.

I'm sure Arum's already lined up the loser of Cotto Mayorga for Manny next.

Sergio is now #1. Floyd#2. Pac #3. Like it or not.

Martinez's best win is P.Williams, whom he already loss to and he refuses to move up and fight all the big names at 168.
                EXACTLY.

I Donaire KOing Montiel in 2>>>>Sergio KOing Dzinziruk in 8. If anyone has a case for leapfrogging Pac, it's Nonito. But people are so caught up in the moment they overlook the fact that Sergio beat a dude with 0 quality wins (unless you consider Daniel Santos quality) at a higher weight than his normal/natural. Again, nice performance by Serg though, but nothing that makes you the top guy in the sport.

Yeah cause Hatton, Cotto, Clottey and Margarito aren't top guys. I know it kills you fanboys seeing Pac on top.

this is the truth. just like donaire was bumped up to 3, passing sergio, based off of his incredible KO, i think martinez could have this done too, for the time being.if manny has a great performance against mosley, which is likely, i think everyone will go back to saying pac is 1. but to me, and other fight fans, their recent performances, let alone opponents (winning streaks before their fights) will put martinez as the true p4p king. but i think martinez doesn't compare to pacman is terms of greatness or legacy, he's just up one by a strand of hair in rankings based on their recent fights. but opinions r opinions, thats what they...
