I must admit, I admired the Fat Yanks team, they showed passion and togetherness, unlike us, even though they were less talented.

It's a kind of snobbishness really.
If the argument was: If we had more boxers we'd have better fighters at all levels of the game.
I'd have to agree with that. It's basic numbers.
Pinpointing specific athletes because they are fast and big and athletic doesn't hold any water.
A potential American Heavyweight Champion might have been a policeman, a doctor, a bum picking up benefit cheques, a naked man butler. Who the f.uck knows? Any old f.ucker might have been a great boxer given the right environment and mentality.

Comes across as a nice fella but he is as impartial about America as a pushy mother watching her daughter at a beauty pageant.

Great athletes CAN make good fighters, but it's not transferrable, fighting is a mentality, maybe some can cross over but very few indeed.
Lebron James is far more likely to have been another audley harrison or michael grant than the next Muhammed Ali.
This excuse is lame, i am sick of excuses.
Lol
Look this is simple, the nfl and nba in the states have taken away from the heavyweight division. No and if or buts. We can't say " take lebron james and throw him into the ring" because he would suck. You have to look at it like this.
Back in the day what sport was people pushing the big kids 2?
Boxing, number 1 thing. Being the heavyweight camp used to be a big deal. BUT NOW, those big kids, tall kids are pushed to basketball and football because of the success and the culture of the states now. Its all about football basketball and baseball now.
If some of the big football/basketball players where thrown to boxing(when they where young) more the states would have way way way more prospects and great fighters.
Overseas heavyweight boxing is still a big thing and thus the greater amount of fighters coming out there. There's no nba and nfl culture and grooming over there.
It is what it is. IT IS A FACT

Funny how the majority of people that believe this myth,
are arrogantly, ignorant americans. I've touched on this same topic before. As the TS, a great athlete doesn't make a great fighter. Someone brought up Wade one time, as someone who would have made a great boxer.
Dwyane Wade cried on a f ucking wheelchair,
because he injured his shoulder.
These guys play other sports for a reason,
because they're not fighters in any way shape or form.
