As much as I love Pea, I totally disagree with this. Now, I have always picked him to beat Floyd in fantasy fights, but there is no way do I see him completely schooling a pure boxer like Mayweather.

honestly, i think pernell wouldve outworked floyd & slipped any 2-punch combo floyd would throw... pernell was the epitome of "slick". pure boxers can get outworked... happens all the time.

i mightve exaggerated a bit using "schooling". HAHAHA
even though a LW version of floyd was AMAZING, i still give the nod to pernell.

Oh yea, I know what kind of fighter Pea was. And I know what kind of fighter Floyd is/was. I like Pea in a fantasy fight, but I wouldn't say he would have schooled him. I think it would be a close competitive fight. Very high level of talent and defenses between the two.

In the bold, not necessarily, I think Mayweather's low punch output may be very beneficial to him in a match up against Pernell. Notice how a prime Oscar couldn't put hands on Whitaker? Now why was McGirt able to hit Whitaker WAY more times despite not having Oscar's workrate/ speed? It's because McGirt was unpredictable. It's hard to catch Floyd's timing because Floyd doesn't have a consistent attack. So on the real, I can't see Whitaker lookin' like a defensive maestro against Floyd.

To me, it would be a very competitive match up where I could see either guy winning. Another thing that needs to be looked at is Pernell's power, to me, Whitaker's punching power was very underrated but he doesn't have the power to worry Floyd, Floyd can operate with full confidence. I'd certainly pay to see this, despite the strong possibility of it being boring

A Lightweight Pernell Whitaker isn't getting 'schooled' by anyone. Nobody in the history of possibly the deepest division of all time 'schools' Pernell Whitaker there. So please cut that **** out.

As for Mayweather Vs Whitaker at Lightweight. I don't see Floyd beating Whitaker to be honest. Can he? Maybe. But I still don't see it.

I'll tell you something though, theres a much better chance Whitaker 'schools' Floyd than vice versa.

Personally I think Floyd does everything technically better than Pea. Better puncher, defender, smarter etc....I dont see how anyone can watch their footage and honestly say that Pea is a better all around fighter than Floyd.

I'd never say Whitaker was better all around, both are better than the other in certain areas.

Floyd to me is the better counter puncher, better speed overall (Not by much), better puncher.

Whitaker is the better infighter/ body puncher, physically stronger of the two, combination puncher, better jab.

As far as defense/ everything else goes, they're practically even, even though most regard Whitaker as the best defensive fighter.
