You can blame Golden Boy for moving Canelo along too quickly, but you can't have the cake and not share it so to speak. Legitimate contenders must now get a crack at that belt. And if GB had no intention of putting Alvarez against top tier opposition they should have never expedited him to this point.

If he wants to be a man, his age can no longer be used as a factor. "oh but he's so young, he needs time to develop..." Sorry, but if anything he's already bigger than some of the guys in the division, both figuratively and literally.

No hate against the guy, he's very talented and has a bright future, but we can no longer give him a break.
the belt don't mean *****... but if he fighting on HBO, he better be fighting tough competition... no more ****in matt hattons...

I agree wholeheartedly. I dont think hes ready, but that doesnt matter anymore.

I hate the WBC for making this fight for a belt, they ****ed up bad in more than a few ways...theyre probably even hurting Alvarez's career.

That's fine and dandy, but us fans must hold him to the high standard if he's made the decision to enter the league.

You cannot say look at what he's doing at just twenty years old but then also use that as an excuse for poor performances.
You really don't understand what is going on do you? Did you not watch the fight or hear the telecast?

They are promoting Canelo with this belt, it's that simple. He is ONLY 20 years old and no BS belt can take that fact away. Just like Roy Jones Jr said, "if I was 20 and they were offering me the same thing in this belt, of course I would take it...."

Unlike most understand, Canelo has fought very good opposition for his age and is fighting at a very high level. They are going to treat this kid with white gloves, much like they did Trinidad and Cotto once they knew what they had.

Then with a few fights unders his belt, the big money fight will come. I really don't understand the criticism of this kid, I really don't.

Yes he needs better defense but he's strong, accurate and has the will to fight. IF they handle this kid good, he's going to be a real champ one day soon.

Neither is ok. It just *****s on every guy that has to win a million fights just to get a crack at it and hopefully get hyped up.

Yet, Canelo gets a pass too cuz he's popular.

If he doesn't want to defend it against top comp, fine and good, he can vacate it but I know Sulaiman will sanction any fight he's in.

Maybe Bobby Pacquiao is next for him.

Not that he's a World title, even though he's not the lineal champ, just a paper. He now has to act like a true champ and fight top contenders.

Is not only, is all these title holders. Being 20 is not an excuse anymore. He will be held to the SAME standards as the rest of the title holders.
Haha yeah like the rest of the rest of the tittle holders that fight tough after tough fight just like the great berto or the great moreno or the great haye or the cotto or the lopez who all have belts yet fights guys like freddy hernandez like mayorga like salido like parra like harrison. None of the guys fight tough fight or the elites in the division yet here people want this kid to go face the elites. When top tier fighters them selfs dont do it.
