That's fair. But I don't see what there is to be proud of in him winning a title. Canelo is a good fighter, but all this title means is Jose Sulaiman wanted him to win a belt.

I don't think anyone truly thinks he's trash.

I just hate him right now cuz he lost me money on the under.

Yeah, its not like Canelo went pro at age 15 and this is all his experience.

while Devon has litterly like 300 amatur bouts under his belt along with his pro record.

Now tell me, who has the most experience?

Didn't Haye unify a division after winning a title?

Lopez is a 2 division title holder FFS's.

Anyways. no Berto? Exactly I shit on Berto because he does not act like a true title holder. If Alvarez goes on the Berto I will shit on him too. And, shame on you for giving him a pass. If he's not ready then don't go for the title. I felt the same way about Berto.

            No excuses.
One i am not giving him a pass i am saying is he doesnt need to fight the elites like cotto mosley margas even angulo or cintron. What he needs todo is fight good fighter not blown up welters but solid guys at 154 but not the elites.
And i am talking about currently what all those fighters are doing it after they have their belts not what they have acomplished or who they have on teir reaume bc that is unfair to compare to canelo who is just begging his career in the limelight. Lets examine lopez is fighting salido and is talking about fight marquez a shot as hell marquez moving up. He is not fighting the best in his division like john like gamboa like hasegau or gonzalez. The same goes for moreno who fights only fringe contenders and not one elite. Same goes for cotto right now fighting foreman and now mayorga. My point is these guys are considered elites yet are not fighting the top of the division yet people are expecting canelo who just won the tittle to fight all these monters when all these elites arent doing it so why should he?

This is true, but the fact Canelo had no amateur career should be taken into account when you look at how many pro fights he has compared to fighters with amateur careers. With that said, I think since Canelo now has a title, he needs to fight better fighters.

I don't believe he is ready for Top 5, but that the logical step to go from this point, that is if, of course, boxing worked like we want it to. You get a belt, you fight Top 5, or at least Top 10 competition from that day on. Doesn't matter how old or unprepared you may be. I don't enlist in the army and then expect the enemy to take it easy on me because I wasn't really ready. Hope that metaphor makes sense.

I guess one thing we can all agree on is that De La Hoya and Sulaiman are greedy bastards looking to profit at Canelo's expense.
I don't have the mind of a 12 year old like most here who just want to troll, so I don't waste my time with not being civil.

I would agree with you but there is a bit of irony that you are putting some sort of credence to this belt, it means nothing. Boxing has a million belts and they hand them out like candy at a fair, shouldn't be surprising to you or anyone else.

DLH isn't greedy, he's a promoter and doing what promoters do. Hatton isn't a great fighter but he is tough and wasn't something easy for Canelo. King and Arum have done 1000X worse for 1000x longer.

Now Suleiman is greedy, corrupt and a scumbag that has ruined the WBC.

You're right, cause there isnt anything to be proud of. The title was basically an early birthday gift for Saul.
