Whats the point on holding it against him if everyone is going to treat him like the other top 154 champs? Its obvious hes not ready and they will beat him.

So when he loses to a top 154er they're just going to call him a bum? He is clearly a prospect that just got an easy run for a title.

Anyone with a boxing IQ can tell you Canelo is NOT a real 154 champ nor is he ready for the top guys.

Sanctioning Body World Titles such as WBC mean alot to fighters who will never be Superstars and get HBO budget Money.

Why don't you look at the rankings in the WBC or Boxrec for that matter. There are guys waiting for opportunity to make money. Winning the WBC commands bigger purses. Even if nobody is interested in the fight, the WBC Champ will get the bigger split of the pie if it goes to purse bid against a Mandatory.

These titles mean alot in smaller weight divisions in Asia, and in bigger weight divisions at Heavyweight. But the 154 WBC Belt is being pimped out to the biggest bidder in recent years. All the would-be contenders at that weight looking to get a crack at that title, should just pay their WBO or IBF Sanctioning Fees, and forget about WBC or WBA.
