[QUOTE=oj simpson;10146186]its quite simple really. how many point guards in the 50s & 60s hell the 70s were throwing down alley oop dunks?

    how many do that now?

you can also take every bill russell & wilt chamberlain statistical brilliance with a huge grain of salt.

Oh well. Whenever someone argues that old fighters are better, I'll just watch the rumble in the jungle and see 2 guys punching like amateurs.

Foreman is sooo much better than Klitschko, just look at him. He does not throw those annoying accurate jabs, devastating short hooks or quick and powerful straight punches. Instead of those he throws classy wide hooks and manages to miss a guy who just hangs on the ropes and holds. Talk about great footwork of Ali.

Also you should not forget how much better Foreman moves at the ring. Just look at him go! He just walks toward his opponent, that is something what modern boxers can't do!

This seems really iffy.. because as a percent the popularity of boxing may have gone down but with the worlds population tripling since the 50s boxing might have more viewers today.

You've given examples yet ignored the fact that field improvements, equipment improvements and PED's do not make one athlete Superior in his god given gifts. I'd like to hear your explanation for that.Or are you to tired to actually have a fact based debate?

Its a FACT boxing had more professional fighters and gyms in the 50's compared to today. Do your homework and I'll be more inclined to educate you than embarrass you on this my friend.

I would like to comment on this because of this myth of african americans are better. Its not that they are better but just have a higher percent based of athletic people. (more athletic ppl but not better) This may be due to the survival of the fittest when only strong africans were taken to america to do labor, thus weeding out the weak. The best of any race are even.
