Literally every single one of your 700 posts in the last month has been on an Ali related subject, making your ******ed arguments. Think about how sad that is.Comment

Nothing is good about racism, it might be another black man saying it but its not right and trust me Ali skin colour is the ONLY reason he got off with saying such disrespectful things to another fellow professional athlete.
I prefer the guys who leave the talking out of the equation and just do the business in the ring, sure they can say a few funny things but they shouldn't be trying to downplay someone with that sort of disrespect its similiar to that joke fest between Groves and Froch both were to blame for that.Comment

Bit ironic going on about respect/disrespect with your avatar/sig.I prefer the guys who leave the talking out of the equation and just do the business in the ring, sure they can say a few funny things but they shouldn't be trying to downplay someone with that sort of disrespect its similiar to that joke fest between Groves and Froch both were to blame for that.Comment

Actually, although people are laughing at this match up, there are genuinely a few points that could help Peter in an Ali fight.
One: Peter is a big solid dude. He could eat Ali's punches like he eats skittles. He would never be fazed by any shots, while his punches could hurt Ali. I don't think he'd knock Ali out, but he could certainly hurt him and maybe even out him down. Frazier could, so I'm sure peter could if he landed his left hook too. His size and power are pretty crazy for that smaller era, so its very possible that he could overwhelm Ali with his brute strength, power and size.
Two: while some people laugh at Peters skills, he's not nearly as bad as a lot make out. He was skilled enough to drop Wlad numerous times. Ali didn't have great defense. Speed, jab, good defense, but he could certainly be hit and Peter would hit him, quite a lot.
I just think the conditioning of Peter would play a factor too. Whilst he might have sometimes come in big, when he was at his best, he had great stamina and kept his power all fight which I think would trouble Ali.
Peter wasn't as fast as Frazier and maybe not as skilled, though it could be argued he was very close, but he was a bigger, hit harder, had a similar great left hook, more power and the same determined style that troubled Ali.
I could see Ali having success early, while taking some big shots still, then as his legs tire, Peter starts to land his big shots more often, just like what happened to Ali in some fights, and then maybe he'd just get hurt late and Peter take over due to his size, power and underrated offensive skills.
Good, hard fight though. Would be one of Ali's epic ones.Comment

Good points. I think Ali would go for a clear UD after 15 rounds but people dismissing Peter totally are just blinded by obsessive nostalgia. He could bring problems to Ali with his 260lb. body and granite head.Actually, although people are laughing at this match up, there are genuinely a few points that could help Peter in an Ali fight.

Yes, agree completely. People blinded by nostalgia seem to think black and white film makes you more skilled, faster, better conditioned, more savvy, better jab, greater footwork and adds more depth of opposition compared to today.
Sam Peter is proof that is simply not the case.
Would be up there with Frazier, Foreman, Liston, etc as a great fight. However, I see it also being next to Spinks, Frazier, Holmes, Norton etc as a loss for Ali.Comment
