60s version of Ali gets knocked out.
70s onward version of Ali would probably have a very hard fought out fight with Peter, it wouldn't be a walk in the park for him put it that way.

Samuel Peter was probably one of the worst heavyweight champions in history.

Yeah his toughest test wouldn't be with someone who is a true heavyweight lmao!
You really don't know what you're talking about.

Lets be fair here and do a real comparison who wins at CRUISERWEIGHT!!
Holyfield or Ali, I pick Holyfield.

Holyfield would out-hussle Ali and take him through an absolute tear up of a war and take a UD.
Bad match up of styles for Ali.

The main interest I had in this thread is in pointing out that Ali did not like the pressure of come forward fighters like Frazier.

The difference between Frazier and guys like Peter, Brewster and Chisora, Tyson and Povetkin type guys imo is that they all hit significantly harder than Joe (some of them much MUCH harder) and can take massively more punishment. Some like Tyson and Povetkin for instance also blow Joe's skills out the water as well. Tyson was even 2ce as quick!

I think it's a bit naïve to assume that Ali could pulverise such opponents when in reality, he never pulverised ANYBODY significant let alone anybody similar.

He couldn't even handle the pressure of bloody Earnie Shavers! Ali LOST this fight!

I watched Ali vs Williams today. Bit weak imo, and this was meant to be ne of his best fights?

How so? He wasn't too bad.

Floyd Patterson, John Ruiz, Leon Spinks, Joe Frazier? Can't say Peter was worse than those guys? Those guys were an embarrassment to the sport!

Can't believe you r trying to argue this...

Problem is prime Ali was quick on his feet. Peter would look like he's fighting with cement on his feet against prime Ali. He'd get frustrated and stopped.

You say you saw the Cleveland fight.... then you saw how prime Ali threw potent combinations while going backwards. That alone would be the end of Peter.

                      Ingemar Johansson aswell!
For god sake when is the last time they produced anything good boxing wise from Sweden?
Ingemar just came over to the USA and flattened Floyd Patterson, lost the two rematches and he did nothing prior to winning the belt and nothing notable other than losing two rematches.
