I seen Ali BARELY throwing anything at first, and I saw Cleveland plodding forward like he weighed 300lbs or something not throwing even a damn thing, nada! Can't believe you r trying to argue this...
Problem is prime Ali was quick on his feet. Peter would look like he's fighting with cement on his feet against prime Ali. He'd get frustrated and stopped.
You say you saw the Cleveland fight.... then you saw how prime Ali threw potent combinations while going backwards. That alone would be the end of Peter.
It's utterly ridiculous that one could ascertain that this Ali from this fight would do anything at all against a relentless and powerful Peter.
Just take a look at Williams, even setting aside his missing intestines the guy is a joke of an opponent. Peter has way more mobility than that! He atleast tries to punch his opponents. I am not supposing Peter would be very mobile anyway..
What I'm suggesting is that Peter would bull right through that piss weak Ali and swat him down like the insect he was in those days!
If you pick this so called "prime" version of Ali against Peter, he performs even WORSE! Who did he beat?
You want to praise a 60's Ali against Peter because of his footwork but the only time Ali even fought a comparable opponent was in the 70's?
Not sold my friend, if it looks weak, it IS weak!
Ali vs Williams is a proof of how pathetic his competition was at this time!Comment

Yes, Ingemar Johanssen, another testament to the greatness of champions past, unlike the "embarrassment" that was Samuel Peter, who would have thought that a talentless bum like Peter with more muscles than the average bodybuilder and a crunching punch could ever wear the same strap as these old guys.Ingemar Johansson aswell!
For god sake when is the last time they produced anything good boxing wise from Sweden?
Ingemar just came over to the USA and flattened Floyd Patterson, lost the two rematches and he did nothing prior to winning the belt and nothing notable other than losing two rematches.Comment

Are you mad, first round??? This is Muhammad Ali and Sam Peter!! Ali is the first round at the hands of Peter???? Noway, you're ****ing ******ed!!
Peter would stop him in the first second...SECOND! First punch he throws, the wind from that punch would stop the running, scaredy cat, weak chinned Ali. Ali's chin makes Khan's chin look like graniteComment

Watch some of his fights. One of the reasons the Foreman fight was great was because Ali was old, fighting a beast, changed his style and won the fight.when was Ali's prime? His best win was against Foreman and shortly after that he was knocked down and taken 15 rounds by Chuck "bleeder" Wepner, a guy who had more fights in YMCA's then he had wins. If it was that Ali, he would be slow and Peter would be able to catch him and then it really would just depend if he his the right spot. If its pre-exile ali, then he stands no chance, his chin would be too weak to handle the power a true HW would have. Henry Cooper knocked him unconcious...188lbs Henry Cooper, Sam Peter would kill him.Comment
