    Right. But why? They don't fight the same, at all.

    It seems the general idea is just because there both defensive fighters that they fight exactly the same.

      It's weird, just the other day I was watching JCC and I fail to see the similarities between him and Castillo. Chavez wasn't as physically imposing, he was a patient laid back fighter, it was once he had you hurt that he'd jump on you. Castillo ain't no where near as skilled as Chavez. Chavez can be an animal if he wanted to, so I guess it all depends on Chavez's approach.

      One thing we're not considering is that Mayweather's first fight at LW was against Castillo, hardly any time to adjust to the weight. Despite all that I think it'd be competitive, still lean towards Floyd to win though.

        Yeah thats insane. I aint even talking about the haters who make lil chicken gifs and use ***** on a regular bases. I can disregard them. Im talking about the old head geniuses on here who try to disguise it in word play and start out by saying **** like "floyd could be great but he needs Pacqiao to do it". If resume is about big names then he contends with anybody in history. Mosley is the only "old" fighter he fought so he's not fighting any shot fighters. Most of his recognized fights were against former champions or future champions so whats the dilema.

          Dan Rafael is a moron.

          And, anybody who believes that Floyd would toy with either one is an idiot also who overrates Floyd as a fighter.

            It's hard to say. On the one hand, Chavez isn't going to be hurt by Mayweather. Ever. So, Chavez has a chance to do something Castillo was able to do in the first fight and his popularity might let those scorecards swing his way.

            However, if Mayweather is smart, he should be able to win a close fight.

            At the same time, Trinidad needs only one punch to change the action in a fight. Mayweather isn't exactly chinny by any means, but he can be rocked. Trinidad also has tremendous will-power. One of the best fighters ever, when it comes to believing in his ability to change the fight with a single shot.

            However, I presume Mayweather handles Trinidad like Wright did. Tight defense, makes him miss and counters him all night. Still could be tricky for Floyd, however.

              mayweather lost to poor man's chavez...he'd lose to JCC below welter....

              the Tito fight would be close to call... Shane put Floyd on ***** street...Tito could end it if he landed a proper punch....

                I also doubt Chavez entered the ring for a lightweight bout weighing 147 lbs.

                  So true, but one thing I will say is...they're both really good in all areas. Whitaker is the stronger guy though, I've seen him push around much larger men. I'd also say he's the better body puncher.

                    Yeah they don't fight the same really.

                    This forum seem to think;

                    Whitaker=Mayweather

                    Chavez=Castillo

                    they sometimes throw in Williams=Hearns too but they have cooled on that after his KO loss.

                      I would agree but i also think Floyd's overall strength is underrated.

                      Whitaker is a better puncher undoubtedbly IMO. Whitaker is a very underrated body puncher.
