And, anybody who believes that Floyd would toy with either one is an idiot also who overrates Floyd as a fighter.

He's vastly overrated and vastly underrated at the same time, It's crazy.

We had guys saying Floyd is not a HOF'er and guys saying Floyd would easily handle Terry Norris at 154 in the same day.

I would agree but i also think Floyd's overall strength is underrated.

Whitaker is a better puncher undoubtedbly IMO. Whitaker is a very underrated body puncher.

Never seen anyone go to the body with that kind of precision. Just the kind of stuff that would make you cringe. I wish someone would make a highlight specifically emphasizing on Pernell's body punching. PED?!

I think Mayweather fares better at WW against Trinidad than he does against Chavez at LW.

Despite the natural size disadvantage, I think Mayweather uses his speed, boxing skills, ring IQ, and much better footwork to win a decision over Trinidad. Mayweather would have to be very careful due to Trinidad's power, he wasn't just a left hook guy, but had a very good straight right hand too. But Mayweather was much better with angles, taking away an opponent's best weapon, and Tito was also vulnerable to a straight right hand. Oscar, known as a left-hand happy fighter, was hitting him with frequency with the straight right. The straight right is Floyd's best punch, and I think he'd get this punch through.

Chavez wasn't as big or powerful as Trinidad, but was much better at cutting off the ring than Trinidad. He was also a better in-fighter (Tito was more mid-range) and better at slipping shots. Simply put, Chavez was a better fighter than Trinidad.

Technically Trinidad is taylor made for Money. He didnt have a clue how to cut off the ring. When he fought better boxers that following around **** got himput on his ass. Not only does Floyd beat him easy but he probably knocks him out. No contest.

they sometimes throw in Williams=Hearns too but they have cooled on that after his KO loss.

Williams to Hearns aint that bad of a comparison. Hearns' chin was the usual suspect in his losses. I actually think Pauls chin is better. He just got caught with a Pacquiao/Hatton type shot that would have floored most heavyweights. Hearns trumps him on the foot work though.

No. People who are honest know Floyd is better than Whitaker.

Really? I could've sworn Sweet Pea is an almost consensus top 20 and Floyd still isn't considered top 40, much less top 30, must've been wrong though. I think Mayweather should get at least a top 50 ATG on his resume before you declare him better than Pernell.

It seems the general idea is just because there both defensive fighters that they fight exactly the same.

Whitaker's defense was built more on making you miss completely by slipping to the sides, dipping low, and using his legs. When he isn't using his legs too, Mayweather's is built on blocking and rolling.

The reasons JLCastillo gave Mayweather so much trouble in the first fight is the reason JCC would because whether Floyd blocks the left hook to the body or not, he's taking damage and it eventually takes its toll, that's the reason why he used his legs more in the 2nd fight. People forget that Mayweather was a pretty close fight on the cards until he stopped him.

I think tito would have destroyed mayweather

Tito's been outboxed before but floyd isn't as physically imposing or as tough a fighter(you need to be to beat tito) as any of those guys, I think tito would just walk through his punches like nothing and put about 10 times as much pressure as castillo did when he beat floyd.

I think floyd could beat JCC though- he was tough as hell but I don't see him outlanding floyd, and I see floyd controlling the fight from long range as well as the pocket.
