Chavez was never much of a welterweight. Mayweather would handily beat Chavez there.

However, the Chavez of lower weights, particularly at 135 (the Rosario fight especially), that's a whole different story. Chavez was heavy-handed, cut off the ring extremely well, slipped and rolled with shots well, underrated boxing skills, iron chin....He was a hell of a fighter, I'd make him the favorite at lightweight.

This is dumb, Jose Luis Castillo was Chavez maIn sparring partner for MANY YEARS, so he learned alot of his arsenal from JC himself the only difference was that JCC was stronger so who is to say JCC couldn't do what Castillo did to Floyd only better.

I'm a fan of Floyd but I wouldn't count devestating punchers like Chavez or Tito out.

I don't think you know much about anything except hatred of ***s and India.

Nobody "toys" with Trinidad, I think Mayweather does beat him but Trinidad's style gave Pernell a much harder time than people thought.

Chavez loses to Mayweather in a similar way he lost to Whitaker which was far from a "destruction'.....lol

I think they are too close too call, it also depends on the weight they fight on.

I agree with you. But, many on here also feel that Margarita has a solid shot at the current version of Wifebeater. Do you think Margarita has a better shot at beating Wifebeater than JCC at 147lbs ?

Yes absolutely because Marg is a much, much bigger man than Chavez. Let's remember, Chavez was never a true welter.

Margarito easily can fight at middle weight and would walk through Mayweather's shots. Now I still think Mayweather beats Marg but by decision and there's a reason the Mayweather camp avoided that fight at all cost. It was a high risk, low reward type fight.
