    Urban Antillon for starters.

At any rate, Valero was a beast who would ko everyone at 140.

    Easily.

No, he didnt. Least, I wasn't impressed.

Valero showed more with each step up, and he was highly impressive against DeMarco. When assessing potential, it's not all about the result per se, it's about the subtleties. Alexander appeared better than he is because he landed his money uppercut on Urango, a tough guy who hadn't been knocked out, and won a stoppage. He didn't look exceptional or like a "beast" in any of his fights. Valero showed a world of nuance in his last fight, and you could see there was still more to reveal. He would've torn a guy like Alexander to shreds; Devon was able to exploit Urango's sloth-like aggression in the end, but Valero's far swifter, more ferocious and much more unpredictable assault would've reduced Alexander to tears.

Antillion is not a top pro. He has made his name from sparrig pac... Lol.

I also saw flaws inAlexander myself, but his wins got him the hype and people considered him the top 2 at one stage.

As for Valero, his style most definitely makes him look better than he is. Yes he has pop, speed and timing, but that wad VS slow guys or guys who aren't that good.

Paulie looked fast vs juan diaz, but come amir khan, nope.

Everyone at the top 5. 140 beats demarco, but hecauee of styles, it doesn't mean they all look as good.

I see it all the time, when a boxer doesn't face a top 10 and looks shiet hot, people get all happy.

Again to jrecking, if you have to go to antollion who i recall has loses abd is just glorified by pac's sparring, then you're reaching.

Go and watch that documentary where tall rangey guys give him trouble, and even the trainers who show they really believe he was really good and would ko mosquera in 2 or 3 rounds said the santiago bro's gave him trouble because they were tall and long.

            Who are these brothers again?

If anything, I think his style has made him look worse than he is to many.

He fought recklessly for much of his pro career and his openness in those fights gave the impression he lacked skill and nuance. The more he would move up, though, the more he would shore up (while remaining an aggressive fighter).

Oh, yeah. Amir Khan looked like he had a lot of power against Graham Earl. Against Kotelnik and Maidana, nope.

You don't need to be the fastest guy or the hardest hitter, if you can be fast, hit hard and have other nuances. Valero undoubtably hit very hard, though; some guys are just harder to move, DeMarco took some decent shots well and was just surviving in there come the mid-rounds, but anyone who doubts that Valero was a distinct one-shot threat to all but the most granite-chinned of fighters has missed a few beats.

And rumor has it, Pac man too.

They didn't just hype him for the hell of it.

He was a name in So Cal gyms and knocked out Pitalua a big puncher in 2.

I wouldn't say he fought nobody, but I think he's live at 140.

I don't believe Valero was hype. He was the real deal.
Actually, Roach said pac handles valero easily and this was before pac was as established as he is now.

And Alexander deserved to be ranked highly, objectively speaking, because of his wins over Corley and Witter and the (impressive on paper) stoppage of Urango. I just never saw him as a guy who would amass a body of exceptional work at world-class is all; though his best results were pretty creditable, I thought he looked limited and would come unstuck when he came up against guys closer to their primes than Corley/Witter and guys with more talent than Urango.

Putting Soto through hell for 12 rounds isn't too bad.
