No offence, but Amir has decent power.

Tell me who on Valero's resume showed thast Valero has world class power. You can not.

Maidana has a very good chin. Maidana has decent power also.

In fact I bet I have seen more fights of Valero than you. A lot of his early stoppages were early. Maybe in Japan that is how they do thigns.

Anyone who gets hit on the liver gets hurt. That is boxing.

Here is a question for. Show me proof of this very good chin that Maidana possess because if you saw the victor ortiz fight that you would know that maidana has an average chin. He got dropped 3 times before ortiz quit like *****.

Not all sparring is let's work on the pivot and turn.

I think you have to give Valero a chance in this.

        Peterson isn't a puncher, and he isn't a lefty.

        Valero was the freak.
Sparring is really about improving a fighter's weaknesses. For example, Pacquiao had trouble with prospect Shawn Porter and journeyman Michael Medina. However, in a boxing match, he would beat them easily.

Edwin Valero did have potential. But his success at sparring does not show how successful he would have been against Manny Pacqiuao in a boxing match.

Even David Rodela has gave problems to Manny Pacquiao in sparring. However, in a boxing match. He lost to Eloy Perez and Dante Jardon. Two fighters who don't even have the experience Pacquiao has.

There is no way that fight could be a bad fight. Like Alexander-Bradley everyone thought it might be a stinker, and it was. But Maidana-Valero, the only way things can go wrong in that fight is if its over too early.

So you sparred and never went all out?

With a guy that's in shape?

See Valero had the goods and it's pointless because neither of us can prove the other wrong.

I see the potential. Maybe you don't.

It certainly doesn't show that he would suck at 140 either.

I can't believe how Valero is so overrated by many.

He would have had a hard time against any of the top guys at 140 and would more likely lose to them.

But for fantasy's sake, Valero vs Juan Urango, Lucas Mathysse, or Ricardo Torres would have been a good test for him.

Heck, I would pay to watch Valero vs Randall Bailey..

Valero easily had the skills and power to give anyone in the world at 140 a damn good fight and probably win. Not to mention the heart and determination.

                    Peterson gets mauled.

Alexander gets reduced to a shrinking wreck.

Ortiz would only have a chance early, and that's assuming he hits hard enough to land something Valero's chin couldn't handle (being that we don't know the extent of Valero's vulnerability). If Valero gets 3 rounds under him, it's his fight.

Valero-Maidana would be the mouthwatering FOTY lock, but Arum would've moved him on to Pacquiao too purposefully and swiftly for that fight to happen.

Khan would fight with Lionlike bravery, but would ultimately fall to the more vicious beast.

I'm a believer in Bradley's talent (while not a fan per se), but I think even he would have struggled to outbox Valero for an entire 12 rounds without eventually succumbing.

It's not unlikely that none of these fights would've happened, excepting Peterson.
