Except Berto offers nothing in terms of who he has beaten, fan base, or pretty much anything. You don't get rewarded the #1 fighter on the planet b/c you pwned Freddie Hernandez and almost fought Shane Mosley. Honestly, if you're a true Berto fan like several on NSB are. It might be better to take the position that Berto has a lot of skill and talent.. But he needs to step up his competition.

I have been a Berto fan since before he became pro. I don't have a problem with the criticism he gets but some of the guys in this thread act like he hasnt gone after some of the tough fights and he has. I agree he should fight Cintron. That is the best fight available. Lets not pretend that he has the ability to secure all these big fights and is just not doing it.Comment

I get that but they made a fight with Joshua Clottey. Berto isnt ready for Pac so the probably did him a favor but the idea that he prices himself out of big fights is not true. people say that because he is overpaid for basic fights. No matter what he does he will be wrong in the minds of most here.Comment

my issue is that you popsted that ridiculous comment about what he said. which means nothing, it's what he does and what he's doing is avoiding the collazo rematch, clottey, cintron, any other top 10 contender at 147 and fing freddie hernandez and a bunch of 140 guys.Comment

He didn't price himself out of a fight with Pacquiao, b/c even being on the wrong side of a Pacquiao split is a payday for Berto. When it comes to fighting that tier below Pacquiao, he's going to be a pain to negotiate with. I'd like to know the exact details of his second attempt at Mosley negotiations..Comment

Other than Clottey, I think they all give him a near 50/50 fight.. And even Clottey could very possibly pull it out. My only reservation is he seems to have endurance issues IMO. Anyone who talks big on twitter and hides from Kermit "leap frog" Cintron, really needs to consider stepping up.Comment

exactly. when you got cintron ****tin on you, you know you ****ed up.
I'm thinking Clotteys high guard would negate Bertos only strength.. his speed. Clottey can just hide in that guard and counter. Bertos endurance is still suspect and I don't think he can throw over 1000 'power punches' to keep Clottey honest.
That's why I'd like to see the fight.. instead of this guy pickin on Jr. WWsComment
