    Boxing is a state.

Andre Berto is 27 years old and is recognised as a Top 3 WW and hasn't fought a legit WW in his last 3 fights and his best win is Luis Collazo.

And now fighting Victor Ortiz is seen as Ok.

That's because he won a vacant ABC trinket. And that is our fault for lending those clowns so much recognition, authority, and therefore respect. If there was only one belt Berto would be lucky to be in the top 10 based on opposition faced. Sulaiman and co. are not friends of this sport.

both guys needs to stop babying their careers and take chances

fighters who get the most respect take chances with their careers in hopes of greatness and if they fall short well we as fans at the very least respect the efforts

these two are so afraid for their careers they seem to forget this is a sport of chances

I know people are gonna come at me and say "Ortiz is a Jr WW" but on the real he's freaking huge and there is hardly any size disparity here, he's simply looking to gain an advantage. Either he wants to make a statement at 147 or he doesn't...up to him. Really doesn't make sense, especially for a guy who's most likely killing himself to make 140. As a matter of fact they might actually be the same size!

Tired of these catch weights especially when it invovles a belt. Truth of the matter is if it's for a belt than it should be at the weight limit. I like Ortiz and I think he's got mad skillz, but he still has developing to do and needs to fight Maidana again in order to get his confidence back.

Don't you idiots pay attention? It's not Berto's fault that HBO doesn't want Cintron in the ring with Berto and they want Cintron to try to redeem himself against Paul Williams and vice versa. That's what HBO is trying to set up. Not a Berto-Cintron fight. Berto is in a tough spot. There are just no good opponents for him to fight. I don't like the dude, but I have to defend him a little bit because everybody is spitting venomous hate towards him and asking for unrealistic fights.

And I find it funny of how the Ricans are on this thread bashing Berto for this fight while Cotto is fighting an even worse opponent in a washed up Mayorga who has to drain a bunch of pounds. And Berto offered Cotto a fight and Cotto ducked him. Remember this people.

How is a JWW going up in weight much more realistic than cintron coming down to 147?

and lets be honest if Berto and Cotto fight, Berto would just try to **** on Cotto all fight frustrated while Cotto just takes it easy and outboxes him, period
